On Verizon as well and noticed two great updates on the HUB settings. 1) pinch filter criteria is now available 2) resize email to fit screen.

No more so than all the threads/posts from people complaining about Verizon and their not releasing Marshmallow.

It's a Forum and people start threads about everything under the sun.

I wouldn't say useful information. You can check for updates through the playstore daily if you need to know that bad

Wait, why would the "Hub + Services" show up on the PRIV. We already have a real BlackBerry device, we're not subscribing to BB services.
I just checked my PRIV and noticed that I have that same app showing up as installed and an update is available, but I also have the real Hub installed as well..
    (edit) I'm on Verizon Android 5.1.1 June 1st Security patch, Build# AAF055
(Edit#2) I was searching for reasons why you would find your handset saying "Optimizing applications 65 of 143. . . " without you actually doing anything, when I saw this thread and checked to see that I have these updates as well?

Hub+ is now the name for Hub for all devices in the playstore. You just noticed it now as you are still on 5.1 and the Hub+ features arrived in September for 5.1. Watch older app update threads for same questions.

Can't tell you anything about optimising without any OS update.

It's not forced on you. It was always there and a requirement for apps. It was called BlackBerry services before on your BlackBerry android device.

Apparently it use to be called Blackberry Services or something similar. It was some 'backend' module or "app" that was needed. Just renamed.

If you notice, all of the new apps also note "in app purchases" or similar. Those without official bb devices can buy the app series.

It provides all of the common sync, account management functionality and services between Hub, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Tasks, Device Search, etc. It was always this way, but was just called BlackBerry Services previously. The name was changed to align with the Hub+ launch on non-BlackBerry Android devices.

Thanks for the explanation guys. When I went to use my calendar it forced me to update that software, before starting it and then I was able to use it normally.
