I've had a blackberry for about 12 years. My previous phone was a Z30. I didn't get any spam invites.
Then, I upgraded to the priv. I started getting 2-3 spam bbm invites from random people per DAY.

Just for kicks, I decided to try a rooted S6 and installed all the BB priv apps on it. I ran the phone for a week before I got tired of it, and wanted to go back to my priv. I swap sims, and the next day I wake up and find 2 spam bbm invites.

I have the same apps on the S6 and the priv. I checked all permissions. I also have the "Ask security question on invite" and i'm still getting them. Any ideas? This is frustrating.

**EDIT Here is a screen capture** any idea what they say?

Wow and it's suppose to be just as good as BB10 security , wonder how that happens.

I get the same amount (3-4) spam BBM invites daily that I was getting on my Z30, Bold, and iPhone 6s plus. No noticeable difference between platforms.

No spams here, perhaps you posted your BBM ID or PIN. Or have a friend who was hacked. Or your address book or a friend address book has been compromised that have your BB info. It's not the device, not even BBM fault.

    Unlocked PRIV on T-Mobile -> Passport -> Z10 -> 9900 -> 9810 -> 9800 -> Bold 2 -> Pearl -> Curve

I'm getting a ton of invites in what looks like Bahasa (Indonesia) as well as the sponsored ad invites. I'd say its easily 4-5 a week and all you can do is block the individual user.

I really only use BBM for one group chat, getting pretty annoyed with these.

Its very annoying. Also the sponsored ads on bbm are as well. I have a Blackberry priv, not just a normal android or iphone. I don't see why I should be getting the sponsored invites.

Has nothing to do with security. I've received them on BB10. Haven't actually got any on Priv yet.

Yeah, I definitely find that annoying. I thought blackberry devices wouldn't get any of this junk spam.
I keep getting wind mobile ads between 2 of my contacts. I'm with Telus. No way in H that I'd ever downgrade to wind.

I get about 3 per day since switching to a Priv (never any before on Z30). I think their should be an invite using NFC only option. If these don't stop within a week I'll contact the three BBM contacts I have left by text and delete my BBM.

I get spam invites on both BB10 and my Priv. And yes, they are almost always from Indonesia.

While not getting SPAM i am disappointed with the multiple sponsored invites daily now on PRIV. Mobile Strike, Wind Mobile and others. Originally one benefit of owning a BlackBerry was no Junk on BBM. Seems that benefit is dead. Also thinking of changing MSG apps.

Yip, I just upgraded from my BB10 passport device to the ATT Priv for about a month now. And now I'm getting this crap too. I'm thinking it's has to do with one of the app installed from the google store which wanted access to my phone book. For example TOMTOM, Gasbuddy, etc all want phone book access. BTW, these apps are using new trick to prevent you from removing permissions which everyone said you can do with android 6.0.1. Screen overlay detected error, everytime I try to remove contacts permissions from the app, I get this error which throws you into a loop of trying to disable it.

Example, I just reinstalled GasBuddy, which does not list contacts was an permission needed, but when I go into setting, apps permissions it's there along with location and storage which I'm ok with. TOMTOM is the same, only solution I have is to remove these app's which sucks b/c it's the reason why I got the PRIV. An now I have to delete my BBM account because I do not want to waste my time clearing these unsolicited requests.

This is a message to you blackberry, you better come up with solution to fix this because DTEK is not helping either. Or he's a solution, just give me a BB10 image to rip onto my PRIV and F#$# ATT.
