Looking to change the battery. I also want to use new adhesive for the battery, but all I can find is iphone battery adhesive. I'm tempted to use some iphone adhesive strips. What has everyone else done or used for adhesive?

Any smartphone adhesive strips should do
Does anyone know how important it is that they are the right size? How much smaller can I get away with? Are they easy to trim shorter if they are too long?

I think replacement Priv batteries should come with the adhesive pre-installed. Besides, the adhesive residue from the old battery might help also. I didn't add any when I swapped my Priv batteries
I think you are over-thinking this. Just take your Priv apart and approximate the size that's already there. It's not going to be a big deal.
My previous question is more general in nature. I have been asked to change the battery in my in-laws Asus. I am not sure if the new battery will come with adhesive or not, but I'm not wild about reusing the old adhesive. I may eventually have to change the battery in two Classics as well. I'm not how often these batteries come with adhesive or not.
I've played this sort of game many times before. Sometimes things are very forgiving, other times I've had to redo work that I didn't want to have to do again. It's helpful knowledge if I can know that 75% coverage, or 50% coverage with adhesive is sufficient, or if most of it must be covered.

Not often - I would be surprised if adhesive comes with the battery and again, it won't matter if it has 50 or 75% coverage. In real usage and depending on the battery cavity, you probably only need about 25 -30 % of what was originally on that device. In fact, you can probably just reuse the adhesive by carefully re-heating with a hair dryer on low for a few minutes then seating the new battery (I have done this with a Garmin device, laptop battery and one cellphone in the past).
Thanks Brookie, that was very helpful!
I was nervous about the heat method, but if low heat is sufficient I may try it.
