AAG053 came in as our delayed August patch - we were still on July patches before getting it last night. You (yvpan1) already have the AAF960 August patch, so unless there are significant differences between the two I doubt BB will push it as a second August patch. The Quadroot vulnerabilities seem to be the same for both builds. But who knows - sometimes BB works in mysterious ways.

Based on the evidence so far, this is only for people with Rogers, both unlocked and carrier STV100-3. They skipped on AAF960.

I don't think we've seen anyone that has a Carrier locked phone get this update. So far, the only ones have been unlocked ShopBB STV100-1 phones that happen to be on the Rogers network.

EDIT: Confirmed with Tony that it's only STV100-1 users that have gotten it so far, that we know of. The mystery continues...

Haven't really noticed anything different to be honest. Hard to really tell as we also had a slew of BlackBerry app updates around the same time. Battery performance seems to be about the same as before based on my current observation.

Since the update and the circle on BlackBerry software updates on the VKB like occasionally sticking in all caps mode despite never touching the all-caps key or inserting gibberish. That said, I have no idea if it was the security update for the keyboard app update that was responsible.

Correct. Here is his statement: "Rogers August SMR build had a minor change that required a different build than the rest. This build never went to external beta."
