So, Devs are you going to start 'converting' your apps, for Android and the Priv?

    Nope.
Nothing against Android I'm just likely gonna give up App development.

Why would they if the equivalent already exists in 100 forms on the Play Store?

I'd like to see Home Screen Plus, converted to an Android\Priv app. That was the main app, that spawned this thread...

Marco Gallo (Air Messages), Toysoft Development (Visual Arts), and Emberify (Instant) have already ported at least one of their applications to Google Play.

I would love iGrann and a few other native apps ported. I would pay for them again with no issues.

    Why iGrann though?
I always found it funny that Blackberry was all about privacy but would trust 3rd party apps with their data in order to access big apps.

Are not the majority of apps in BB World ported Android anyways?

Not all, but many of the Built for BlackBerry apps work in a particular way, which is to say they are not just built for BB10 but in the way they work with the OS and other apps makes them more a part of the BB10 experience more so than just being another app. BlackBerry Services will allow devs to bring this same "feeling" to Android on BlackBerry. On one side this may cripple such apps on non-BlackBerry phones on the other it will once again allow BlackBerry to remain unique as it will have its own set of apps not available on other vendors. Well, maybe.

The big thing here I would imagine is the ability to turn on or off all permissions with native apps ported to AoB. That may or may not be a huge selling point but considering Android apps from Amazon App have some permission settings locked on, the "real" deal has those same settings, too.

    Why iGrann though?

Because BB10 users asked for it when it became clear Instagram was not coming to BB10. It is one of the top apps.

However, you can still turn on or off all permissions for iGrann. For something like the FaceBook app, there are only three permissions to begin with: Location, Calendar, and Shared Files. Of course, those can be turned off or on, too.

...wouldn't developing\converting apps to Android, been seen as a challenge, of sorts?
Albeit, sorry to hear that you'd walk away from something that you like doing.

    Nope.

The fact that I no longer like doing it is the reason, I used to enjoy App development, but now it's becoming a burden; spend easily hundreds of hours working on something and then it only gets a few purchases and barely any feedback makes you question the whole point of wasting your time.
I've given away around 2K copies of one of my Apps, it has 31 reviews, that works out around 1 review every 64/65 Downloads, impossible to evolve an App like that.

But of course it would be a good challenge, but the question is, is there any demand?

...understood. It is always nice to hear directly from developers. The inside input is good to know.
