Hey guys, I thought I'd share a free app that allowed me to remove the google now swipe up action and replace it with the recent apps screen. This basically closely mimics bb10 behavior.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...swipeuputility

    Hope this helps people!!

Rep! Thanks. I hate Google now. I didn't know this could be done without root.

So what exactly does this do? I am not understanding. So you can assign app by app the ability to use gestures as you want?

When you swipe up from the home button swiping up and to the right or left at an angle can custom launch any app. By default left launches BlackBerry search and right launches the hub but BlackBerry gives us the ability to change these. However, swiping straight up launches Google now (as it does on all android devices) and BlackBerry does not allow us to customize what the straight up swipe launches. This app allows you to customize the straight up swipe.

FYI. If you swipe straight up from the "square" instead of the circle it automatically launches the hub. Very handy.

    Nice once!

Someone should start a thread on apps that bring BB10 (similar) functionality to Android. This one can be added as one of them.

There are others out there too, just need time to look through since there seem to be more apps available on it than on prior BlackBerry phones :-/.

Swipe to wake up if what I miss the most too. Double tap makes me feel dumb and I always tap too many times because it takes a while sometimes to react. I know it's possible with root because I hate it on my HTC one m7. It should be possible if someone implemented a custom lock screen but I bet since they would lack access to some of the system apis android uses to monitor for the double tap constantly that such a lockscreen application would come with a high battery life cost.

I set the Swipeup app Gesture setting setting to Home button. Gesture > Choose Action > Home Button. Then no matter where I am, for example in an app or reading emails,a swipe up from the center circle brings me back to the Home Screen. Maybe not for everyone; but meets my needs.

Swiping to the right within an app to go back to the previous screen (i.e. back button) would be nice too.
