From everything I've seen, it sounds as the Priv will come with 5.1.1 out of the box and run it as Vanilla, or as close as.
But I've not heard whether it'll get 6.0 any time.
Anyone know the answer?

I'm hoping it is too, but there's been no mention of it. It could be that BBRY do put their own skin on top, which'll mean they'll have to carry out tests etc., before pushing out the update. They may be slow in doing it, or not have the resources and so not do it at all...
Yes it will!
Chen also said this indirectly in one of his latest interviews, where he made a point of the Priv "running Google", and "the latest of the latest", and Chen even repeated and emphasized the "latest version"
Which only can be understood that the Priv will either be launched with M, or at least get it short after..
This would be very important, since most likely the Priv is not as unlockable and rootable as most Android devices. Being a secured device, it will not be secured if rooted.
Also keep in mind that one of the things making the Priv "different", is that they have tied the OS to the hardware on the device. BlackBerry add their secure keys onto hardware. What will be interesting to see, is how much other changes they have done to the OS. I hope it is as feature rich as Google makes it, with perhaps even more settings added.... not less...
