I know you can buy coils to add this to a phone, but they generally occupy the USB port. Anyone found a more elegant solution?

I had wireless charging on my Note 4, it wasnt worth it.
its the slowest charge rate ever and often doesnt line up properly and there for wont charge.
It should have been a default PRIV feature on all the models. Oh well.

I rather not have it there
It doesn't do much, charges slow as hell
I loved it on my Q30!
You guys just need a better wireless charging base if it's so slow or 'never lines up'
My TYLT VU always lined up and charged relatively quick. Slower than my 1800mah playbook charger, but just as fast as the stock 750mah charger.
Well worth it to just be able to drop my phone on the bedside stand
I really miss it on my passport :(

Guy I know bought a STV100-4 and a STV100-1 and he just swapped the back covers, reconnected the wires and it actually work!
No it doesn't .. with a Qi wireless charger, it can charge your PRIV whilst you sleep at night,...
I have it on my desk at office, just put my PRIV onto the wireless charging stand, where it light up with messages and plays music,.. when I need to leave my desk I just take it with me .. PRIV always charged and ready for action. At 1am it goes into wireless charger again at home, and at 6am it is ready for action
All PRIV models should have this built in
For those who want a good charger and a good wireless charger stand,
here is a good combo:
Qi Infinity 3-coil charger stand:

Anker 5-Port 40W Desktop Usb Charger with PowerIQ:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...UvbUpU12209795
The Anker charger has 5 outputs, so it's perfect for those with more than just a phone that needs charge every night!
I disagree,
Sure it charges, and it's nice for overnight
But when your phone is in use by any means, the quick charger can't keep up
Hell, even the PB charger takes 2 hours to fully charge the phone if drained
Thank how long it would take for a 750mAh charger or wireless charger to accomplish the same feat
I can play music or other streaming, and the wireless charger charges my PRIV at my desk - so Yes, it does keep up
I think you have had some bad chargers - this really works
Of course wireless is not as effective as to plug it in directly, but so what? Very convenient to place the phone on the stand whilst at work, and just grab it when I need it, place it back when I don't use it - and the phone always has power ...
If I need a urgent super charge I would plug it directly- but with my way of use, I don't need those bursts of charge
Different people, different needs different use. We are not all the same ..
Rather than debating the merits of wireless charging, this is what I was hoping to see.
I wonder if there is any source to buy the STV100-1 back yet? Did your friend post any video per chance?
Nice info
Was the same with Note4 from Samsung, you had to buy the backcover with the chip or a pad for QI. (Qifull Chargeur ultra mince Qi Wireless Module rcepteur de charge pour Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910 N910F N910A N910T N910P N910V N910R4 N910w8 (noir): Amazon.fr: High-tech)
Hope this will come also for our Priv!
Would be nice if we could buy replacement back covers to swap!
You usually can buy replacement parts for BB's but maybe too early still. I was hoping if they were being sold by now, someone would point it out.
Any new info on spare part backcover from STV100-1 and swapping it into STV100-3 or STV100-4
I might try and add a generic qi coil to mine. They are under $10 on Amazon. Should just have to stick it under the back. And given the flex, it is safe to say there is lots of room in there. The wondering if I could tap into the USB contacts...
Wireless charging isn't really about how fast it charges really. I really miss my days with Touchstone. I have a dock in my car, I just put my phone on, connect Bluetooth and I'm ready to drive. I don't need it to charge quickly since it's only topping up, but I love how there are no wires to fiddle with.
You can see the Qi receiver and the contact on the mother board here, as this guy takes apart an STV-100:

Right around 30s mark.
Here is a pic of the STV100-3.
I bought one of these today: Robot Check
I am going to see if I can't solder it to those two contact points from video.
I'll be angry if it that simple... WTF didn't BB just include the cheap receiver if that is all it is.

Did you manage it in the end? I've just ordered the Qi sticker for the LG G3, simply because of it's shape. I intend to test it, and solder it on should it work.
It's so not worth it.

I believe you. But for the sake of completeness, I feel I have to give it a go. At most, I've wasted 6.00 and a couple of pieces of wire. Not the end of the world.
I soldered the pad in first night, then went to a store to try on a charger. Charger recognized it, but phone did not show charging. Got home, took cover off and realized that solder had broke. So I need to buy a charger and take my time. Haven't had a free night for weeks to get to this.
Just an update, I tried this again, with a charger at home. I kept the back off to make sure all connection were in tact while I put coil on charger. The phone did not show charging. So I would have to assume that more than just the coil is missing, and adding Qi charging is not trivial. Experiment cost me $20, so not the end of the world.
Sorry guys..Isn't more feasible to buy a 001 and then put on it the antenna modules of the -003? ;-)
