I know there are rumors based on a picture and emails with someone at Blackberry, but has anyone gotten any more hard evidence Priv is indeed coming to Verizon? Since they didn't go the Passport, it makes me wonder if Verizon hasn't just given up on Blackberry...

Bla1ze in a subtle way "confirmed" it would be 2016. But no one has seen anything from Verizon or BlackBerry, and only one report of a director for sales or something @ BlackBerry told a member the model number and it would be 2016.

Nothing from the FCC yet either.

They revised their website after a sh*t storm broke out, no longer "exclusive", just "the first". Someone apparently tapped them today and told them that was incorrect.

Nah. They released the classic and had the exclusive to the z30. I don't think there is any "cutting ties" going on, just business decisions.

Blaz1e mentioned Verizon would look silly of they told us why they were delayed until 2016.

I would love to see SOMETHING from vzw or BlackBerry regarding them eventually carrying the Priv.

yeah, i would love that too. i have the classic with verizon and am a big fan, but would love to have full android support, apps, etc. i still worry about them not carrying passport, which was the latest blackberry release, as being an indicator on their desire to carry blackberry product. i guess one could argue that the priv is different in that it's fully android, thus making it less niche blackberry.

I think, if I recall correctly the passport was before the classic. Which makes that the last device from BlackBerry . The passport was too niche I believe for Verizon or maybe for BlackBerry to produce a CDMA version. Who really knows, not me.

I don't think john Chen stated this. @evleaks did on Twitter a few months ago, but hasn't responded to additional tweets about it. There was someone @ BlackBerry that has a quote in an article today that they have the support of major carriers around the world, or something and the carriers are helping to market.

The image is questionable, someone suggested it could be just a sim swap, others said you can't get 3g by doing that, So? It did clearly have Verizons app notifications and status bar stated "Verizon Wireless".

Lmao. I've been off contract since 2011, but I have unlimited data so I'm holding out as long as I can on Verizon to have the Priv. Didn't care too much about the passport, but the Priv is looking neat and high end.

We need to let Verizon know this! I've been with them for about 15 years, with 6 lines... I want to hear from them (or BlackBerry) that they're carrying it! Of course I'd like it now, but if it's 2016 I'll wait... but I might not wait if they don't confirm it will arrive at some point!

I hear ya but I don't think I'm going to be that generous with the time frame. My cutoff is going to be next week. No word from Verizon or they play stupid, or they tell me late winter or early spring of next year and it's off to AT and T for me
