Yeah, but I think there was some mention a while back about being very quick to get their patch out. If they are unable to do what they say, perhaps BB should 'fess up and say no longer a viable phone.

"Best in class with the monthly patches". Despite delays, this is still the case - it's all relative.

I notice the kernel was compiled Oct 17 .. guessing BlackBerry does that part ? so you can see why it would take til now to get through the carriers... assuming BlackBerry was still doing testing after the Oct 17 internally.

I received the Oct 2017 update today for BB Priv STV-100-4 unlocked via career ( Belsimpel.nl ) in the Netherlands .

It's confirmed and ready to download and install the security update only .

I don't mind about getting the newest Android OS ( N = Nougat or O = Oreo ) .

Just NO . I stick with Android OS ( M = Marshmellow ) .
