The program closed to new members a long time ago anyway.

Oh, I didn't know that. Too bad... at least for me.

Anyway, what are the changes? Or are you not allowed to talk about that?

They never mention any changes, just that this is the October security patch.

Besides, it's PTCRB-certified, so it should be out in like a week.

Thought so... Nice to see that BB really sticks to that security patch schedule.

    Thanks for the responses.

And once again BlackBerry comes through on the patches / updates where nobody else does (in terms of getting them out on time.)

You want to buy a different Android-OS phone? OK -- but you won't get the patches or timely updates unless it's a BlackBerry....

About 40 minutes to download, restart, install 65 files, restart and stabilize. Phone did heat up, but has settled down, and now checking out the new AAG873 on AT&T STV100-1.

That's true, but it's not the "holy grail" of OS updates. This security patches are on time, but can't say the same for things like Android 7 update, we don't even have a schedule for it's release yet.

You keep saying this, but never acknowledge that BlackBerry uses a hardened version that requires a lot more time to develop. Google and BlackBerry are collaborating on the project, and it takes at least an extra 4 months to accomplish.

If you want vanilla Android, there are a few other devices you can look at.
