Anyone else having issues getting the Amazon Video app to install? It wont install on internal or sd card storage. Am I just stupid and doing something wrong? This is my first android phone in many years.

Did you activate to install from unknown sources?

Yes, I had to do that to get Casper to install.
Bump. Anyone other than me having issues either updating Amazon apps or installing Amazon Video app thru the Amazon store?
There are reports that if you either removed or disabled Audible, that is what happens. So backtrack and reinstall or re-enable.
Thank you for the reply. I tried re-enabling Audible and that didnt help. Maybe I just need to wipe and load the phone or just wait till MM comes out.
Try a restart of one type or another:
From BB blog: How to reset PRIV by BlackBerry | Inside BlackBerry Help Blog
Three restart/reboot methods
The first method, which should be used 99.9% of the time when you want to reboot your device, is using the Reboot option that appears after pressing the Power key.
Press and hold the Power key for 3 seconds
Select Reboot from the menu that is presented
The second reset method should be used if pressing the Power key does not produce the menu with Power Off and Restart. For example, if an app or game you are using won’t close, use this option to restart your device.
Press and hold the Power key for 12 seconds
Third method: Should your device fail to respond, the final reset method is to press and hold the Power key for 32 seconds which is equivalent to removing the battery. This should result in your device booting up successfully.
If it fails to start, however, verify you are not pressing any other keys such as Volume Up, Mute, or Volume Down while performing any of the reset methods listed above. If you use a case for your device you may want to remove it as it might be pressing a button inadvertently.
Just tried the battery pull reboot method. Still cant update the Amazon apps that came pre-installed or install the Amazon Video app. Oh well I give up. Ill just disable the apps for now and hope the MM update fixes everything. Thanks for the help though.
I have this same problem. You don't by chance have your priv as a work device with mdm software such as Airwatch do you?
no, mine is a personal device. I just gave up on it though. i can browse to the amazon site using chrome so it isnt a big deal.
I had this same issue not long ago, I fixed it by re-enabling the kindle app.
^ I tried that but still no go.
I had the same, found an article online about clearing the app cached data and the problem went away.
YMMV...

I got around this. It sounds stupid but works, so stay with me. When I got my Priv, the first thing I did was start uninstalling and disabling bloatware and crap I wouldn't use. As it relates to this, I found somewhere online where someone had a similar problem getting amazon apps to update, so they reinstalled audible, and the problem went away. Sure enough, I installed audible back on my phone, and suddenly I could update all of my amazon apps, and was also able to install amazon video. There must be some kind of strange dependency problem. I know it sounds stupid, but it worked for me! Best of luck!
Sorry to bump this back from the dead but I wanted to give an update. I updated to MM using an autoloader and now I can update the Amazon Apps and I was able to install the Amazon Video app. Not sure if it was the upgrade to MM or the wipe caused by using the autoloader that fixed this.
A "bump" showing a resolution can help. No need to apologize.
