Just wondering since I never used Android, but I believe the Amazon App Store still works on the Priv right?

The reason I am saying this is because, I purchased apps on the Amazon Store and they should be transferable to the Priv if I go that way in the future.

I still love my Passport, but I believe the Amazon App store is the only app store front which works on both Priv and Passport. It is just tied to your Amazon account so if I get a Priv and log in with my amazon account, I should get access to the apps that I purchased. I just want to make sure...

But why with Google Play Store already on there? Not wanting Google account? Also Amazon has very few popular apps.

    BlackBerry Priv!!

Because Amazon app store has a lot of free app giveaways.

    For example, Plex.

Purchased apps... but yes OP. It will be compatible and you can install any Android app store which includes Amazon.

Cause I am using BB10 (Passport). The Amazon App store will be the "gateway" store into full blown Android. I won't be going to Priv now (my Passport still working fine), but want to make sure anything I purchased will be transferable.

Some may have already paid for an app on Amazon. Maybe they want to continue to use it.

A couple of other nice apps for free were Splashtop Remote, Printershare Mobile Print and OfficeSuite Pro. Also, no Google Play Services required for these premium apps.

Even if it doesn't have it you can just download it from Amazon. I have it on my TouchPad.

Well, there are some absolutely superb apps that Amazon routinely offers for free (Office, Astronomy, Photo editors, etc). To have the option of reinstalling those apps (should you already have them on your BB) on a non-amazon android device without having to purchase (or repurchase) said apps is fantastic.

The ironical thing is you will have to weaken the android security model to install the amazon app store.

Only for a moment. Turn it off right after.
