As I understand it, pressing the screen off button and the volume down button at the same time is supposed to take a screenshot. I seem to have a 25% success rate with this. I usually either have to keep pressing the combination, or trying one button slight before/after the other, before I get it to work. But all that manages to do most of the time is setting my phone to silent.

Press both the buttons together (power and Volume down) and then HOLD them down for a few seconds.

I struggled with this at first too, it just takes a couple of seconds for it to take the screenshot. Like said above hold down for about 2 seconds and it will take it.
