These negative reviews on the priv are pretty shocking to me, because it's an android device for crying out loud, so the experience , I imagine will be pretty similar to any other android device for the average user. I mean seriously, this phone would have to be so disastrously bad function wise and severely lacking feature wise to not recommend it, because aside from personal preference quirks(keyboard ) and one or two "standard" features across other android devices (fingerprint scanner etc.) what kind of expectations did these people have to bash this phone to the degree of non purchase worthy? As if iphones and Samsung Galaxy completely blow it out of the water. I swear some of these tech sites puzzle me to no end, like why are you telling me about blackberrys market share or how popular their devices are, presumably as a device feature?? I mean why stop there, you should tell me about what John Chen had for breakfast as well, and critique his fashion sense as well while you're at it, since useless information is apparently what counts as critique points for reviews these days.
For f**cks sake, is it that hard to be objective? I'm interested to hear about the performance, durability, features, ergonomics, day to day usage, shortcomings and improvements that they should/could implement. Just be honest about it.
    * It's pricey, I can understand that.
    * it launches with lollipop, I can understand
    * camera isn't as good as others, OK fine
    But the whole
    * blackberrys last ditch effort nonsense
    * can this save the company BS
Needs to stop. Just focus on the PHONE
    -whew, end rant-

I agree with you. All these Apple and Samsung junkies who diss BB who haven't even tried BB10.

BlackBerry Priv is on my shopping list once available in my area.

They just tell you the truth. That it will fail. (you also pointed out why)

    Second that OP

Too many opinions and not enough facts.

We are expecting a Priv a work (there already is a demand) for testing soon so I am anxious to see what it does.

For those who expect it to fail....well what can we say.....

    Well, there is the price…

And, I didn't read any reviews that said that using the Priv would make people more interested in buying a BlackBerry 10 handset. Just about all of the reviews say that the Android operating system is the best thing about it.

I would wanna see this survive so I can see more Blackberry running Android being created.

Maybe at a consumer price this time.

A 4.7 inch Passport running Android maybe ?
