I am very content that I can finally remove GOOGLE from this shortcut.

What do you guys have for your 3 apps?

Did you remove that google search which appears when you long press the circle, or you simply replaced the 3 shortcut options?
If it's the first option, how did you manage to remove it, if it's the latter, nvm.

To remove the Google Search bar you just long press it and click "Remove at the top.

Typed with my BlackBerry PRIV(acy), the more secure Andriod device.

He's referring to the Google search in the swipe shortcut, not the bar.

Lollipop had Google as one of the swipe shortcuts, and was mandatory. Marshmallow made all 3 shortcuts configurable, but added the tap and hold. He basically upgraded from L to M.

Lollipop and Marshmallow both have it. You'r supposed to SWIPE up, not hold. Hold in Marshmallow is now (mandatory) Google Search.

Neither a swipe nor long press does anything. No short cuts, no Google Search. I updated to marshmallow through the at&t autoloader yesterday, before that it worked. Do you think I need to reinstall it?

    EDIT:
Restarted the phone. Now it's working. I'm stupid.

If you want to remove Google from the long press, go into your apps from setting and disable Google App or Launcher3. Takes away that annoying search screen that comes up if you hold too long down the bottom

Doing this also disables voice recognition for other apps, though.

Yes I meant the 3 shortcuts you get, you can finally customize. I use notes, device search, and BlackBerry Hub

Correct. I don't use voice recognition, so no issue for me. If you do use it, then don't go this path.

There is a way of disabling without uninstalling.

Go into Google Now app then settings and disable Google Now On Tap.

On Lollipop, you can only change the left and right swipe. On Marshmallow, you can change all 3.

I did change the Middle Swipe on Lollipop. I am not entirely sure at this point how I did it. But I may have disabled or reset a Default action in the Apps settings.

My middle swipe provides a choice of actions. Here's the result of Swipe to Magnifying Glass:

My Now on Tap is still there. Holding it still calls up the Google Search app.

Yes. It provides a choice of actions. But you can configure it to any application on Marshmallow. Just like the others 2.
