    How about...
Android version for the Android masses through carriers that push Android and the BB10 unlocked version from shopBlackBerry (carriers are horrible with BlackBerry) for those like me that just want BB10.

Sounds good. I carry two phones so I'll have both.

I'd actually be ok with this. But I'd still like to see a bb10 demo in stores so people are aware

Yeah, so long as they do a good job, I don't see what the issue is. I'm quite looking forward to it. I'll stick with BlackBerry whatever because they are email centric but google play services would definitely be a boon. I'm currently using a Passport/Z30 combination but was thinking of ditching the Z30 (personal phone) in favour of a nexus 6 or S6 edge so I'll probably hang on and use Passport / slider combo instead. My work phone will continue to be BlackBerry 10 for as long as they make them and I don't them ditching the os as long as government and industry keep buying them. Chen has said that if he stopped making handsets, he'd lose those contracts. I see this as a move to try to make the handset division profitable again, that's all.

I dunno but would it be better to just improve on the Runtime rather than dropping BB10 wholesale?

I kinda like the Hypervisor layer running full Android within BB10 host. Much better if it can utilize 75% of the host hardware

I don't want to be one of those guys, no one is forced to believe me either, but from what I've heard the OS on the Venice is going to blow us away. What that means I'm not sure, but I hope it does.

Every time I've read this or that will blow you away on here, it never has.

Maybe your in for a surprise?

I remember coming from BBOS to BB10.
It really was an upgrade, and a lot of people were blown away and obviously still love it.

I've been here quite awhile too. While I like BB10 there was no blown away to it. Maybe it takes more to impress me.

Likewise. In all honesty, my initial impressions to BB10 where that it felt a step back from PlayBook OS in some respects, particularly with the swipe gestures and tiles.

There are aspects of BB10 that i believe are ahead of the game which is why I've stuck with it, but i believe most of that would be possible to replicate on an Android OS with enough hard work.

And there were those who were disappointed and are still waiting for BBOS features to make their way back into BB10
