I have been testing the playback on 4k video from YouTube, I haven't noticed that the video playback freezes (select quality 1440p) can anyone confirm weather it is my device or the priv hasnt got the power.

I have compared it against the Z5 and that plays back without any problems.

Mine plays back fine on WiFi, not so much on LTE though with 2 bars of coverage. Used this video as a test -

That's the video I used to test originally and I have just tested again, and it freezes after the ant screen.

At 1080p it works fine, strange.

Reminds me of the video quality of the BlackBerry PlayBook - excellent. Playback on my BlackBerry Priv on LTE.

The video blaze posted is freezing and stuttering for me over wifi

But when I play another 1440p video it works just fine... maybe its youtube?

This is the other video I tested


Mine freezes just as the snakes tongue comes out

I'm also using the YouTube app

Just tried the same video in chrome on desktop mode set to 1440p and it freezes and stutters the same as the app

Seems like all my 4k YouTube video freeze, on the z5 it seems to be no problems, tested on the same network.

Mine froze on 4k too. Audio kept playing.
Happened on both videos jason's played for 3.5 minutes, but then video froze, audio kept playing. Bla1ze's video froze after just a few seconds. Plays fine at 1080. Using WiFi with very fast Internet speed.

Apologies for being a bit thick, but should the Priv be able to play these videos?
I though as it's a QHD device, it should be playing these without a problem

I just watched the video and it played just fine... 4G LTE 2 bars.

Tried a few videos and have to say that some are behaving weird and others are fine..... Seems to be a YouTube issue....

this one is 🔥 and plays perfectly fine

30 FPS seems fine but 60 is what stutters.

Keep in mind the Z5 is a snapdragon 810 which has a much more powerful GPU

I'm still having this issue as of 2016/01/16

Anyone else? I wonder why some are experiencing it and others are not... what is the difference?

I set my PRIV up from scratch, did not transfer anything over using the transfer utilities I did it all manually, exporting contacts etc.
