What are your 3 worst annoyances with your PRIV?

Here are mine:

1. 808 chip,

2. Power hungry (short battery stamina)

3. Front Camera

2. No upgrade beyond Android M
3. Limited storage(and RAM) for a flagship

Front camera would be a close 4 and I'll throw in lack of removable battery as a 5.

Priv has only been out for a little more than 2.5 years. Four years ago was the Passport.

I completely disagree with the OP about the 808 chip. That chip can handle so much. A 2K display quick charging, shooting 4K video, and having the phone run smoothly with multiple apps open at the same time really isn't an annoyance to me but here are my top 3
1. The Google assistant. It can be turned off but there is no way to remove it from the phone and still pops up after its off asking to be turned on.
2. AMOLED screen. It's either too bright or too dark. RIM should have just used a LCD
3. Not having a built in file manager.

Considering the fact that we paid big bucks for this flagship phone, I think it is reasonable to expect it to work well for at least 2 years, so we have a right to complain about the 808, lags and hot devices. Having said that, I still love the Priv's form factor, and wish they would make a better slider instead of the keyboard only devices with the smaller screens.

This is a phone discussion forum. If you don't want to read posts like this don't open them. There isn't any harm in them and it's not surprising people have been disappointed in BlackBerry for a long time or that some are still using the Priv in 2018 considering the KEYone (at least original silver) wasn't much of an upgrade specs wise and was actually a downgrade with the screen.

Getting mine tomorrow...Z30 slowing down...I think it has the Apple slow down thing going on... still love it after 4 1/2 years. VZW orphan waiting for 5G unlocked phones to get past this arcane CDMA crap....

It does not. The apps just walk on, while the phone uses not the best efficient CPU and already quite old Android.

If I were you, I'd skip this damn thing and go for a K1/Motion/K2. You'll soon find out what others mean by saying that the Priv's battery life is a disaster...

Aside from the obvious stuff I'd say the buttons. Before I started using a case my hands never memorized where the buttons were. They had no distinct feeling. Felt like cheap vcr buttons.
Also dont like that we can't change the mute button to something else.
And wished the color lights could be changed to whatever in the keyboard.
I also woulda thought for sure I could of controlled my TV with this thing.

The 3 worst annoyances I had when I used the Priv were:

1. Lag. Probably the most lag I've had on a phone since the Torch 9800.

2. Overheating. Didn't have to deal with this too much since I wasn't the heaviest user but at times you may want to push the phone. It slowed the phone down bad also.

3. The Slider. I'll be honest. I did like having the slider again for putting away the keyboard. The truth is that I used the physical keyboard almost all of the time. So why have the slider. Plus when you slide it up, it made phone too long and narrow for me.

All in all it was cool while it lasted. Just wasn't for me in the long run. It had a great screen though.

love my Priv, fortunately have not had any heating issue, gets warm on occasion, but not uncomfortably hot. Occasionally have some lag, but phone is almost 3 years old. Would LOVE to see upgraded guts with same screen for a PRIV II

3 annoyances:
- overheat
- no more security updates
- lag

3 best positives that have me (still) using it:
- AMOLED screen
- 12MP camera Schneider-Kreuznach ftw!
- the PRIV size seems to work for me as a fullscreen digitizer. I think the K1 is too big as a PKB slab.
