Same weight as the passport? Perfect for passport users, I got used to it in a day.

Picky, picky, picky! With all that we need at our fingertips... Photographs, documents, the Web as well as several different modes of communication.

Complaining about the weight seems a bit ungrateful and taking all of the technology for granted IMHO.

I think you're confusing the weight I am physically capable of lifting (which I would guess is a reasonable way north of 192g) with the ideal weight I would like my smartphone to be.

Lots of glass, lots of battery, lots of metal... it's gonna be heavy.

My S&W model 60 3" comes in as 680g naked & doesn't feel heavy... looking down the barrel, it looks heavier...

I recall the day I unboxed my original Motorola Razr... beautiful, capable, light, had it all... with some hacking even did Internet & books... now THAT was a device designed for utility & to elicit joy in the owner... it did !!

    Meh.

The Classic weighs 178g and I like the heft of it. I think the Priv at 192g will be fine for me.

Hell, my watch weighs more than the Priv at 290g. Heh heh.

In my case, I like a larger screen for productivity, not media consumption. Not sure why you think a larger screen is at the expense of productivity. For my work, I am opening up PDF SK's, Specs, Cut Sheets, spreadsheets, etc..

That is heavy. Imo it has nothing to do with how much a person can comfortably lift or hold for extended periods, but rather how awkward a heavy phone feels in the pocket.

And yes, heavier phones are annoying. I love using my Passport, but I sure do hate carrying it around in public.

    I agree.

The more the phone weights - the more I feel good about it.
In my mind the weight of the phone = quality of the phone (build). That may not be necessarily true, but that what my mind is telling me anyway. I love the weight of blackberries and the weight of lumia phones - feels good, and not plastic fantastic in any way.

I understand the OP's point of view. There was a period in my life that I had a desire for the thinnest and lightest phones.
    That time has long passed.

The thichness - personally as long as the phone does not go over 10-11mm of thickness I'm perfectly fine with that (of course I wouldn't mind thin device as long as it does not sacrifice essentials like battery). Exceptions to thickness could be made for phones like PRIV of course.

I have a note 4 and I'd usually hold it with one hand by placing my pinky finger underneath the bottom of the phone, index finger on the right edge of the phone and the remaining two fingers would be placed behind the phone. This makes it super easy to grasp and less likely to slip out of my hands.

With that being said, the majority of the weight would rest on my pinky and after a while it would hurt. That was about a year ago, it's not a big deal now.

I can see how some people could be worried about the weight but hey, to anyone concern, I say once the phone is released, try it in person or something to see how it feels.

This is dumb, its not even made by blackberry..

Even if blackberry used this material for their next phone it wouldn't be a blackberry, blackberry didn't invent it.
