That is a seriously weighty phone. I had to abandon my Classic because of it's 177g heft - I just found it too heavy to use and type on comfortably.

I shouldn't judge until I've held one I suppose as weight and balance are two different things, but initial thoughts are that this is a deal-breaker for me.

Will anything replace my fantastic 9900?!!

Hit the gym. Start with the 5 pound weights and work your way up. You can do it.

I think you're confusing the weight I am physically capable of lifting (which I would guess is a reasonable way north of 192g) with the ideal weight I would like my smartphone to be.

    56g heavier than the Z10. That's a 41% increase in weight--pretty significant.

But if the Classic is like the old BB7 units, I never had any problems with those. To some degree it's not about the weight, it's about the overall form factor--how big it is, how heavy it is, where the weight comes from, is it concentrated in one place, etc.

I'm just suggesting that you bulk up so that the added weight doesn't bother you.

For sure you will find a phone more in your weight range. Everyone has different priorities and thankfully there is plenty of variety available to choose from.
It seems Priv will lose those who want a light phone, or a big megapixel selfie camera, but on the flip side, might appeal to those who like a physical keyboard and a very big battery.
Personally, I will take a big battery over lighter weight every time.
I imagine it would be difficult to have a large phone, with a slide out physical keyboard and a very large battery - in a light package. So the Priv was probably never going to work for someone like yourself.

The big phone thing is why the watch thing came about. You get a big, battery-laden computer to carry around and to act as a phablet when you want a screen to use such as when watching movies or reading news or whatever--but then you also have the watch on your wrist to give you the tiny bits of info as you need them, such as alerts and texts and whatever. It can also let you control the phone to some degree. With the watch, you don't have to have physical possession of the large phone at all times just to use it.

It's in line with other phones of that size ! The la was of physics dictates that when something is more massive it weights more!

This thing is surprisingly light considering that it's the same size as the 6+ and has way more components!

When you think about weight, always compare it.

If your dog is a great dane, of course it will weight more than my chihuahua

I guess it's something people might get used to?

Going from my Q10 to the Classic was a big jump in weight for me but it does not bother me anymore.

Took about 3 days for me to completely not notice.
