I just received my p9983 and was curious as to the latest OS? Doesn't seem to be consistent with my other BlackBerry devices that are unlocked. Thanks!

Thank you but I assume I would have to do an autoloader? Mine is showing 10.3.0.738 as current.

That is what I did...Autoloader and then rebuild from the ground up!! Plus side battery life has been great...off charger at 6am and at 11:45pm still at 59%!

Clean installs are better anyway. I would suggest using an autoloader even if it WAS available OTA.

Hi I an having a problem with getting a solid sim from my phone company
They only have a breakable sim that can be made to size but it can get stuck in sim slot so could I glue that sim to use? Or do you think keep searching for a solid sim Thanks

Way to bump an old, and unrelated thread. As for the Sim, just put a tiny piece of clear tape on the other side of the Sim if you're worried about it getting stuck.

Guys, I'm actually still blurred with this situation.. I've noticed few postings here & there mentioning, that the latest OS for 9983 is the 10.3.3.. However the latest OS obtainable via OTA is 10.3.2, as when you had this, the system would claim "you had the latest system update" (if you try to check the OS update).. Of course we have to use autoloader for the 10.3.3..
    My question is:
    1. Is the 10.3.3 actually official or leaked still?
    2. If it's official, why don't they offer it via OTA, instead of using autoloader?

*Sorry I've been gone from BB 10 for nearly 3 years, and just recently come back

10.3.3 is the leak. The official version stopped by 10.3.2.
In addition, there is no leak version for Porsche Design so you have to use Q10's version.
Q10's leak version perfectly work for my P'9983.

Ohoo.. I got it now! Thank you very much for your explanation David.. I think I'm gonna try for the 10.3.3..
Btw, a bit amateur question.. Is installing the leaked OS version will actually be considered as "violation or somekind of" or not?

It is hard to tell violation or not. However, leaked OS associated with risk because it is not official one.
We may need to make own judgment if benefits more than the risks.

10.3.3 is absolutely official, and as all OSes, direct from BlackBerry.

It's just that some devices have been forgotten or abandoned by carriers, so don't get updates OTA anymore.

There is no harm, and no concern, with running an autoloader.

Wow a lot of misleading info here, conite is the man, never doubt his word.

10.3.3.3216 is the latest and the Q10 version is absolutely official OS for the P9983, I have 10.3.3.3216 on a P9982 and it rocks.

Ah I see.. thank you so much everyone, I'm enlightened now!
So here's the conclusion (might other readers with the same concern shall notice this):
    1. OS 10.3.2.2836 is the latest official OS that is available via OTA.
    2. OS 10.3.3.3216 is actually the true latest official OS (by this date), which only available via autoloader.
    3. Official OS 10.3.3.3216 for P'9983 is totally the same with the one for Q10.
    4. Point no. 1,2,3 above are the latest situation by this date for P'9983 (which might be different with other BBOS 10 devices)

*Please quote & correct me if there are some mistakes with those points.

BTW, can some experts here share the link for OS 10.3.3.3216 autolader's download? (as far as I found, the available link at CB is only for 10.3.3.3057).

    Thank you.

Download to PC, unzip it, plug in your phone, and run the autoloader.

Device will be wiped in the process.

Thx Conite! Sorry for the late response..

Just downloaded & loaded it to my 9983 2 days ago.. Loaded smooth & succesfully!

Here are some shallow review of my last 3 days usage with the 10.3.3.3216 (for some readers consideration):

So far, I don't find any new tangible feature added.. but I did see major improvement in battery consumption efficiency (as the system consume much less battery resources within a certain duration) - compare to the old 10.3.2.xxx..

The phone now can last within almost 24 hours (for standby state & normal usage - at least for me, different users might face different situation)..

For performance, honestly, still don't feel much different compare to the older OS.. as I just use this device for some basic function..

I didn't find any bugs yet for the almost basic usage, but I don't know in the other area..

Loading back to the system after restarting / shutting down is more faster than the previous one..

Really recommended to upgrade to this OS for some of you that is still using the older one!

Yeah, but honestly there does significantly improvement in terms of battery life.. the system consumes less energy now.. however, this is not a grand picture, since I upgraded from 10.3.2.xxx directly to 10.3.3.3216.. maybe for those who upgraded from 10.3.3.3057 might not experience any differences.
