Still use 2 playbooks daily. Enjoy them for what they are. Still bridge even with my Passport, video chat as well. Actually sold my 16gb one last year for $120. Would be awesome if there is a surprise announcement to make up for the promises. Yup, still hoping!

I don't mind if the PB does not get any update as it fits my job perfect for work and my Z30 is paired like charm with my Playbook thru BlackBerry Bridge..
We bought a media server for ourselves for Christmas and so I just downloaded an app so I could play movies from the server onto my PlayBook. Worked flawlessly.
My husband, who isn't a BlackBerry fan, was amazed by the sound quality out of the speakers.
I still prefer to check my email on my PlayBook when I'm at home. And I have the keyboard which makes it fantastic for note taking.
If it was updated to OS 10.3.1 I would be very happy. Although, the only thing that really needs to be updated for me is the browser. I use Origami browser, which is better, but it still isn't a patch on the BB10 browser.
I have tried in vain as so many others have, and i'm afraid we should all accept the fact that the PlayBook is a 4 year old tablet with 5-6 year old hardware, and at the simplest levels lacks hardware to adequately run BlackBerry 10. Sucks, but the reality is, imagine an iPad 2 trying to run ios 8! IPad 4 is woefully sluggish, so why would people expect BlackBerry to continue to support the PB?
I would rather they focus on refinements to bb10 and make it faster and better on the Passport or Z30. That would be much better.
And with BlackBerry Blend, that was the ultimate nail in the Playbook's coffin. The iPad and Android Tablets with Blend have completely rendered the PB obsolete.
And since most people want the latest Android runtime on the PB, why not simply get an Android and Blend and have the best of both worlds.
I have taken an about face after months of frustration trying to get the PB to run even 10.1, again as others have, and it is utterly hopeless. It is definitely time to move on.

Buy*. I think they've just moved on to better products. 10.3.1 is amazing. The Playbook is an awesome tablet for its uses.
Maybe I love it because I purchased mine after the whole upset and know what it's capable of but if you don't like it why not just move on and not rant to everyone else?
I don't think it's fair to criticize the PlayBook. I like it for what I use it for, and the bridge was never really that great. But...who even uses a tablet anymore..its so..2 years ago. Touchscreen laptops - super light - flash drives - awesome ram. And brilliant new BlackBerry phones to boot. Bye bye tablets. Moses could write on you.
