What's wrong with 2.0.1.668
So, RIM recently pulled the update, and a lot of people on the forums have been expressing hate towards 2.0.1.668. I don't understand though, everything works fine for me, what are the problems you guys are facing?
Why has RIM pulled the update?
Should I also restore back to 2.0.1.358?
(BTW I do have the 2.0.1.668 debrick image that I can CFP at anytime).
I also noticed that the build date for .668 was June 12, which means they must have had plenty of time to test it on the WiFi PlayBook right? Might someone had accidentally released .668?
Calendar issues with this build
Has anyone had issues with adding appointments with attendees to the calendar since the maintenance update? I have issues with syncing to Google calendar and when i try to delete the appointment from the playbook, it refuses to delete. I have hard reset, deleted information out of the fields etc, all to no avail.
kobo problem part-resolution
Since my earlier posting I've been trying different things with the Kobo app itself and found a workround that is a bit tedious but does the job. I will include it here in case others may find it useful.
The sequence is as follows:
1 Start the Kobo app. Normally it should open at whatever page one was last reading. Under .668 the bookmark shows but instead of text there is a continually spinning wheel. None of the options in the top bar are operational.
2. Swipe down to get rid of the menu.
3. Swipe down to reveal menu. This time the options work, but the book still doesn't load to the screen automatically.
4. Choose library and select the book you want. It will open at the bookmarked page.
5. Marvel at the perversity of inanimate objects.
It would be good to think that Kobo would provide an update to match the most recent iteration of the OS. Or that BB would patch the OS to match the Kobo app. Perhaps they could talk to one another?
