I'm just curious -- the current playbook os incarnation (2.1) seems pretty good to me..

I think the main advantage is probably access to BB10 apps currently not available on PB OS. Skype, for example.

    BBM
    BB 10 native apps
    BB 10 email
BB 10 browser which I hope saves passwords ...

Every day that passes the PB is getting closer to being a doorstop as it is left behind by other apps updates. But this is not the end of the world. All we discovered is that BB is not as loyal to us as we have been to it. So get a BB10 device and pair it with an iOS or Android tablet. An sorry Hans Gruber, but I do need a tablet because for instance,I am taking a nine hour flight next week. I need a slightly larger screen for movies and games.

Not much, especially after trying a Z10 for a weekend. So I am moving to an Android tablet.

What I want from BB10 is the much faster browser and remote file access. I'd be happy with Tablet OS 2.2 with those features and perhaps the JB Android player.

I think the overall overhaul of the OS is already a big advantage...

Also the opportunity to get some good apps is a big plus...

So in that case it would be a nice thing that they would launch BB10 for the PlayBook...

The hub would be the main thing I want. I hate how long messages takes to load. If it were just "always on" like on the z10, that'd be good enough for me.

Like another person said, a v2.2 or v3.0 that just added the essential functionality would be fine with me. I don't need it to be 10 per se.

I've had the PB for a while now, and got the Z10 on the day it was released in the US. For me, the one thing from BB10 that I really want on the PB is the browser. The browser on the Z10 is really fast, and makes the PB browser feel very slow. Thats the one thing I'd like from BB10.

I'd also REALLY like to have the full functioning bridge back.

    - Better communication account integration (hub) -> BB10 is really for communicating, PB so far is just uncoupled apps
    - DLNA, DLNA and DLNA
    - Better IMAP support
    - Maps
    - More Apps (I considered app development if PB and phone can be addressed at the same time as targets)
    - Better browser
    - Skype
    - BBM

BTW: How I hate this unnecessary questions why people are not happy with 2.1...there are 100 threads and claims what people would like to see! Read them instead of opening a new one please!

For a developer like me; Cascades !!

I won't develop any native apps for the Playbook anymore. Cascades are way easier to use and learn.

Bring in the Cascades support !!

I haven't written more than basic html code in years. I don't know C++ or QML. I was able to use Cascades to write an app for my Z10 that can play Internet radio stations after reading the first tutorial. Cascades truly is a easy way for people to learn app development, and it needs to come to the PlayBook *yesterday*.

I would just like to know what Blackberries intentions are for a start instead of finding out what's happening with the Playbook through folklore, hearsay and legend. I suspect the reason there is no feed back and support is that blackberry themselves don't know what to do with it. While they're working on BB10 phones the playbook is probably a thorn in their side.

Devs will quit developing for the Playbook as you can see above in favor of focusing on OS10.

Blackberry just made the Playbook EOL. I hope you have money for that holiday device coming down the pike.

Interesting, I've never had it lose its connection. What type of router are you using? I've found mine can be unforgiving with my mom's cheap router, but always keeps its signal with mine.
