So, we all are aware that BB has stopped support for PlayBook OS.

What does this mean for all practical purposes?

Does this mean no new apps on BBW?
Does this mean if my PB conks off, it would not be repaired?
Does this mean no more support for apps on BBW?

I'm curious, all of us are saying support has ended, but I'd like to know the implications of it. What I mean to say is, I would like to know how support for the PB OS ending, would affect ME, a normal PB user.
Anyone have any idea? Thoughts, opinions, anything at all is welcome.
    Thanks.

End of support means that there will be no more OS Updates, they aren't using any more resources for a dwindling user base.

Or when you call Customer Support, they will say: "PlayBook? WTF is that?"

It seems that, apart from no more updates, the Blackberry News app for PlayBook is also dead. :-(

Not a lot really. Our PlayBook will still work. Over time their performance for Web browsing will slowly degrade. Eventually they will break. Happens to all gadgets eventually, and the PlayBook is no different.

Just to be clear, they were ending support for the current version of the OS. It does not mean that you will not be able to get support for PlayBooks still under warranty or service contacts if such a thing exists.

I am not sure of the laws, but some regions require you to support/service/repair an item for a certain period of time after it is last sold, even beyond the warranty period.

It means the OS that the playbook uses will not be supported with any further updates at all. Some businesses might pay blackberry for extended support for the device, but this will be between the business/ organization and blackberry.

Any playbooks under warranty will continue to receive technical help for their playbook and/or device replacement.

Web browsing speed is already unacceptable for a large number of sites.

The whole tablet feels terribly sluggish now.

If mine didn't have 64GB I would have dumped it by now I think.
