Is there any way, easy or complicated, to transfer a file other than pic, video, or pdf, from the playbook to a bb10 handset (or vice versa) using a bridge or bluetoooth connection. (for example while sitting on an airplane or campground without wifi coverage) ?
    Thanks
    Mike

I dusted off my PlayBook to test this out. What I found works the best is BlackBerry Bridge + Files & Folders on the PB. It might work with other file manager apps for PB, but Files & Folders is totally worth the cost of purchase.

I do so via ES File Explorer (side loaded Android app).

Very easy to use and very powerful app. Works well both on PlayBook and BB10.

You beat me to it. ES File Explorer is a must have side load on PlayBook.

Wouldn't that require WiFi connectivity, though?

I personally use ghost commander for playbook <->playbook or playbook<->z10, but that's using WiFi and essentially SAMBA connectivity.

    .
ES has bluetooth function, though I've never used it, so I can't say whether it can be used for PB to BB10 file transfers, though others seem to say it does.

Thanks for the responses, I have installed es file explorer on both tablet and phone. I can transfer using wifi, but no luck over bluetoooth. Can anyone point me to a step-by-step? I tried searching cb, but can't find the answer.
    Cheers

    No. First,

1: Bridge your phone to the PlayBook.
2: Open File Manager. Press the phone icon at the top to unlock the connection to your phone.
    3: Quit File Manager.
    4: Open ES File Explorer.
5: Browse to the path /BlackBerry
6: Choose the folder that corresponds to the storage you wish to access. Example: SDCard will open the contents of your SD Card. InternalDeviceMemory will open the built in storage on your phone.

You can interact with the contents of these folders as if they were local folders. Transferring large files this way is very slow and not recommended.
