Where did you find that the movie store need the DLNA protocols? Thats very cool.
I didn't wrote that (maybe my English ... again) but all the components (network stack & certificates, for example) needed to apply DLNA certification are here. Didn't mean to bring this on a too technical side ... which is not my speciality. Purists may reading this and ^ !
well ...
I just installed the latest leaked 9900 OS7.1.0.267.
I confirm the presence of a streaming media option within the media app.
Also confirm that it gets listed on my w7 desktop as multimedia sever.
Yet I've not beeen able to make it listed nor on my sony bravia or ps3.
Still promising much !
Time to sleep, maybe more tomorrow.

check the permissions on it. If it's set to prompt it may not work; set it to "allow all" then play with adding security.

EDIT : Watch Bla1ze playing with his PS3 and his 9900 threw DLNA !!! (damm, for this one, time zone didn't play in my favor :-) ... good job don_Poky & Bla1ze )
Yes sir ! Yesterday, I was too tired to go deeper ... but this morning (I guess there's something about "propagation" also) I got ...
THIS
EDIT : Haven't been successful with my TV and PS3 yet, I'll work on it this WE ...
For me, I would prefer the PB be a DLNA renderer & be able to play content off of my computer
Though browsing TO my BB or PB from someone's TV to view some photos or a video may come into play now & again. The reverse for me would come up more often though...

Agreed - a renderer would be more useful for me as well. Can't imagine that it is much more difficult to add the functionality?

No, it isn't. But yet we do not have any info about this.
DLNA is 3 components :
- Server (we now highly presume we'll get it, as discussed above)
- Client (no footprint yet)
- Remote (no footprint yet)

Agreed - this was my first query when Bla1ze posted his demo... far more uses to stream from computer/server to my PB or BB.
All I can say is WOW!!! Bring it on!!! The world congress video posted by superbly looks amazing. Really looking forward to having my phone & playbook both on dlna.
Ideally, IMHO it would be so sweet if the PB could operate as either the source of the stream (i.e., as a dlna server) or as the device that displays the stream (i.e., as a dlna client). Dare to dream!
Still tracking, hunting, waiting ... (and promoting CB )
Seems pretty cool! I actually just looked into DLNA for the first time (I guess I've been living in the stone age when it comes to DLNA. :P), looks like it could be a very exciting thing for the PlayBook!
