Try a different pdf reader and see if you getter better results. I remember seeing a few free choices a while back

    Hi from Vancouver.

If you are allowed to share that file (if it's not copy protected) I would be happy to try and read it on my own PlayBook or Z30 (lots of storage on both). You can PM me to show me where it's stored (Mega?) and I can see if I can read it for you.

On your PlayBook - is it running the very latest of OS and Applications? Did you go into BlackBerry world and check for updates - especially on the Adobe Reader? It MAY be because of the size of the PDF.. but I can't tell.

Another test - just to make sure the file is not corrupted or otherwise in bad shape: Can you open the file OK on your PC or MAC?

Happy to help if I can.

As far as Pdf's go that one is a monster. Considering the file alone will take almost 1/3 of the play books RAM it may be very slow to load.

PDF Reader in BB World -- it's $0.99 but well worth it. Has handled every PDF, big and small, that I've thrown at it. You may still notice slight lag if it's graphic-heavy, but the app is light years ahead of any other PDF reader for the PB, so it's your best bet.

I found opening a big file tended to make everything really slow up to the point of freezing everything up. Had to cut the pdf file to more manageable sizes to work

I have experienced the same thing with far smaller files, as small as 2 pages. Inconsistent so can not find that common denominator. The files are intact as I copied them to my laptop and they opened in Adobe Reader.

I too have experienced this on a 2 page PDF. Not sure why. Yet the service manual for my car is almost 200MB, and the PB opens it like a charm. Go figure.

I have to agree with PDF Reader as the best option. It also has a great feature where it can try to repair corrupt PDF's as well as allow you to tab between two different files at the same time. The developer is also great on answering questions or responding to issues.
