So I am working tonight, and the parent of one of my patients is rocking 2 BB phones and a Playbook, so of course I comment on how I am impressed at how loyal he is! He tell me he works at RIM in product development. So, naturally I asked "so are we getting 2.0 in February or not". He just said "yes" then commented no further. I tried to dig some information out of him, but he was pretty quiet about any development type stuff.
Anyway, just thought I would pass along striaght from the horse's mouth at RIM that we should in fact be seeing the update in February. FINGERS CROSSED!!
Just thought I would pass along what a RIM employee told me. I am aware that there was a press release blah blah blah. RIM has issued press releases in the past and missed the deadline.
thanks for the info, much appreciated. I cant wait for os 2.. been tempted to get the beta (if its still possible) until then so I can try out some of the awesome new features like the android app player.
I have been using the latest beta, and I have been loving it. The fact that I am thoroughly enjoying a beta developper release has be even more excited for the final product.
I should have said that he told me it would be released on the 18th, that way the download servers would have been all mine on the 17th!
Read the news that they're giving away Playbooks to Android developers who submit their apps by the 13th, perhaps they're trying to have everything in place to launch 2.0 on the 14th?
Oops Sorry friend. Duh I should have seen that.. What took so long to reply It took you. 0.0000001 of a second. I like that. I'm a little pissed that the OP was getting some negative feed back. I thought it was cool that he shared that with us...
Well, we are dealing with RIM. So anymore extra confirmation is always a good thing to read or hear. As we get closer to the release date (whichever date that may be ) we are going to see more and more of these threads.
I would rather read posts like these than all the RIM is going to die/crash/get taken over type posts. Or any thread that mentions what RIM needs to do to survive..
Title mentions 'a little' confirmation, doesn't say anything in his OP to indicate he knows all the answers.
