Wow, depending on the iPad3 release and whether RIM keep their promise on this, I could have 3 generation of iPads in the time RIM releases 2.0

Awesome!! That should make it four months better than the developer release!!! With four months more developed apps!!
We don't need no stinking email...there's a browser for that And a phone!

More people will be buying phones to take advantage of all the cool stuff playbook offers!

Best of all those on the fence will fall off the fence and go away and stop complaining!!
Awesome news Thanks!! Made my day

Their reasoning is worse than the delay itself...

They officially made this product a permanent niche product with no hope of recovery. They might as well just switch to BBX phones now.

Here's my news flash...I'm done with RIM and their products. Purchased a Playbook on day one and also 9930 on day one. I'm so pissed! What a disappointment.

But the product wasn't rushed to market, right? Made a thread on that a while ago and got ripped apart by fanboys.

All products are rushed to market. The initial HC offerings were a joke. This is separate from that.

Hopefully, RIM's definition of "integrated email and calendar" is what I'm thinking of...

I think they messed up big time!! Can you imagine what other tablets will be announced and out by then? They will forever play catch up now. When 2.0 comes out it better come with a free Halle Berry LOL

    At the very least:
    iPad 3
    Amazon "Hollywood" tablet
    Asus quad-core Transformer 2
    Various Ice Cream Sandwich tablets

Who knows, maybe Microsoft will announce Windows 8 at COMDEX.

Thank you RIM for posting this update.

It may not be palatable, but the important point is that you've communicated a timeline and the efforts that you are making to make V2 a valuable upgrade.
