Easy as that, few minutes later you should get a notification on the pb oe you can check manually if you're feeling impatient. Runs like a standard update from there
Registering as a developer takes all of 30 seconds, so you're not just lazy, you're really lazy. As to not wanting to run a beta, I suspect that most of us running the beta don't think of it as such. It's just OS 2.1, period. It's definitely less buggy than the last official OS and the android player is light years ahead of the one on 2.0.
Answer : Because I don't want to go through the hassle of registering as a developer (or whatever you have to do to get the beta) and don't want to be installing beta software on my Playbook.
Hahaha... You LITERALLY just enter your Playbook PIN, put a check mark in the license agreement, and Click "Submit". That's it.
i'm hoping the new OS will be available next week.
When Thor announced the 2 month delay on BB10, it probably bumped everything back 2 months. An early summer release hopefully became a late summer release. Next week is the last week of summer.
hi.. I've just read in another BB UK forum... they just got the 6 Mb upgrade to OS 2.1
I haven't got it my self but.. I think you should try to check on your PB... hopefully it's real....

Very small updates (<10MB) are often due to the OS deciding to fix something you've accidentally deleted that the PB considers it needs or to add a regional update.
If OS2.1 comes, it'll be a sizeable update around the 400MB mark.

I still don't think it's coming, despite various RIM tweets to the contrary. But, hope springs eternal...
Are those the tweets that now suggest CARRIERS call the shots? Are those the shots that Chrysalis1156 is shooting at the moon? I believe that that moon is the BUT-T (censorship reigns) of Rim's problems.
As someone who worked for hardware and software manufacturers for over 30 years, I would be willing to bet that the layoffs took out too many people and, now, they are having problems.
