I've heard some really good stuff about the playbook and just got it 2 hours ago. I bought it on impulse since it was 200 bucks. What are some fun ideas i can do with the playbook? I've never had a piece of technology like this before.

One thing you can do is surf CrackBerry. Advice is to turn off Flash and/or Javascript while doing so, in your browser settings, since the site (not the PB) is quite slow much of the time because of those things.

Once you're here surfing, you can do neat things like read past threads which already discuss all kinds of interesting things you can do with your PlayBook. There are two other forums, much more active than this one, about the PlayBook... click on the parent link (BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet Forums) in the breadcrumb trail above to see them.

Once you've read a bunch of that, and played a bit on your own, then you can do cool things like post new threads asking questions that haven't already been asked a million times. ;-)

I'll get this out of my system: RETURN IT!

Have you established your bridge connection yet? You can do that to get email and calendar notifications.

Obviously, use the browser and visit Flash sites to see it in action. Copy some hd videos to it and watch and then get a micro-hdmi to hdmi cable and attach it to your tv.

Film some nice scene with its video camera.

Take advantage, if you are a gamer, of the half priced sale on some games Dead Space, SimCity and others.

Surf while watching TV. It's small size crystal clear screen and rough finish make it super easy to hold and set it miles ahead of other devices. Couldn't resist.

You kill me. You bought a tablet without a defined reason or purpose beforehand? You will discover new uses for the BlackBerry PlayBook with each day you actually use it for something, anything. My suggestion is just use the tablet and explore BlackBerry App World. You might consider buying the book "BlackBerry PlayBook Companion" by Matthew Miller (ISBN 978-1-118-02648-9) as an aid to learning more about this device.

You will be amazed when you lay the BlackBerry PlayBook flat (face-up) and can still clearly view the crystal-clear display while playing back a movie, for example.

Rough finish? Strange both of the tablets I own are smooth to the touch and application transitions and execution are smooth. The only rough edges with this tablet are the small selection of professional-grade applications.

The first thing I would do is buy a convertible case for it. Protect it!
after that I would top 10:
Get BlueBox/dropbox so you can share fun stuff with everyone.
    1. You can video chat with the app with other Playbooks or with everyone else by using:
    AV by AIM | CrackBerry.com
    2. Take some great pictures and video (it has better cameras than the iPad2)
    3. find your favorite websites (you can play flash games) and bookmark them.
    4. Sign-up for a book club and start reading. The size feels great for that.
    5. Download a couple of great movies (I use DVDCatalyst) and enjoy them anywhere.
    6. Download a couple of games. (NOVA2, Spiderman, race games, you name it)
    7. Download a couple of songs from 7digital. The UI is fantastic and the cloud allows you to download the songs to any four devices you want. The dual stereo speakers are very nice.
    8. There are many apps you can download that I like such as Package Tracking for shipments, excel is preloaded, you can get some work done as well. I started using GroovyNotes for any classes my wife and I take. Some like other apps that do this but I like being closer to paperless. I used to take physical notes but I got so many they eventually got thrown away. Now, I keep it ALL in my Playbook (by the way, download Desktop Manager and set it so it backs up your Playbook weekly).
    9. There are efforts to restrict the web but it is still wide open. Enjoy Flash, even as we move away from it, it will take years before it is not that relevant.
10.Dowload Scrapbook and share awesome postcards with everyone.

I'm sure you will come up with your own ten best. If you have a BB phone set-up bridge. If not, just go to your web e-mail icon and log in. You could select it to remember you. It is an easy way to check your e-mail.

    Enjoy it.

I love using kindle books on it now that there is a feature for that... and granted its a bit raw right now, the kindle will get better (or will be perfect once the android player arrives).

At first I wasnt sure I would like the 7" screen size since 10" seemed to be the thing, but found out the portability makes this a much better choice since this thing goes with me. I dont mind carrying this device around i public.... an ipad makes you look like a tool.

    PressReader to read newspapers

Evernote - really great, for some reason the pb doesn't take great close-up pictures (probably better in OS2) but here you use your phone for close-ups if you can (my 9800 camera is great for close-ups)

If you're a student you could use the app SketchBook to write dirty messages to other people in class (Ex. iPad sucks!)

Use it as a bedside clock at night (Antair Nightstand, Todays Alarm Clock...)

If it fits on your dashboard you can use the app VCMS for speed, Magellan for directions

Yeah establishing bridge is probably the first thing you should try to do.

The Playbook has by far the best speakers of any tablet. I have my whole music and video collection loaded on mine. If you're a twitter user, I recommend Blaq which is the best twitter app out there. I think its $2 or something but the developer is a nice guy and always updates it. If you use Dropbox then BlueBox is a great app for that. Lots of good games on the Playbook in App World with many more coming. It won't be long until the 2.0 update arrives (February) with a load of features that many of us have been waiting ages for. Good luck!

I'm not making this up. What I do with it:
Watching online porns (FYI, most of them are flash) with my wife in bed and having sex.
My iPad doesn't support this function. (FYI again: iPad doesn't support flash other than YouTube which doesn't have porns)
