How will the media experience be enhanced in OS 2.0?
So by and large, i use my playbook as a media consumption device....browsing the interwebz, streaming movies/tv, and loading videos onto the pb to watch when im out and bored.
Unfortunately the current OS doesnt support .mkv files and certain audio codecs. Ive also had trouble playing certain .avi files (not a sound issue, the whole thing isn't recognized as a playable format even though its .avi). Similarly the browser seems to crash when im streaming videos and alot of ads pop up.
So what can i expect from OS 2.0? are we going to have complete functionality across all video formats? its seems stupid that with such a beautiful screen i cant play videos in the format intended for HD 1080p. Or that the browser promises a "complete" internet experience, but crashes when streaming sites have popup windows or too much going on.
I've heard that the browser on the beta is a big improvement over the current one, so im looking forward to that, but not having tried the beta version (and not really being 'in the know' on a technical level), what else can i expect as far as media consumption is concerned?
