Hi,

I have a 32GB Playbook which has performed consistently well since I got it some months ago. However, now when I atempt to add a contact, all I get is an error message that begins; [service error 4] and then has many lines of text, none of which makes a lot of sense. Has anyone else had this problem, and i would be grateful if anyone had advice regarding how to fix it please?

If no one has any suggestions, you might try giving rim tech support a call.

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

Thank you, I emailed them and got an almost instant reply that simply said they could not process my request...no explanation given. I'll try phoning tomorrow and see if I have any better response. The rest of the Playbook works fine, but just whenever I try to add a contact, this message appears:

I know folks frown on double-posting but this subforum gets lets attention than the full pb forum. So you could post again, with the full error showing as here.

You could also try backing up your data, especially contact data, remove it all and try adding it again - or maybe look through your contacts and see if any glaring oddities show up - maybe one contact is badly formed?
