I understand that tinycam Pro is supposed to work with the playbook, I got it to install ok, and setup the camera just finr. but when you go to view the video stream a message comes up saying Failed to load native code. Change protocol.
Does anyone know what this means and how to fix it.

It will depend on how the .apk file was converted to run in the Playbook "Andyroids Sandbox". It was/is a hit/miss proposal back when the Playbook was supported waaay back when. The Android Runtime has not been updated for a few years now, so, that's about it. May be better to just but a NEW Andyroid tabby to make life way easier on you tho.
You can try to convert the files yourself (Google search will get you to "Goodereader" website, which has the converting tools to go from .apk to a .bar file (which the Playbook uses) Start here:

The real key is to find an older APK that is compatible with Android 2.3 (not even sure anymore - whatever the PlayBooks runtime is based on). Then convert it to a BAR file and hope of the best.
At one time it did work... and maybe someone who still actually uses the PlayBook and has it working will show up. But I've seen a number of post where it and others just no longer work.
Sideloaded free versions 4.34 through to 5.9, not Pro version, work fine.
So let me understand this.....does the TinyCam Monitor Pro found in Blackberry World NOT work or are you referring to a straight android version?
I have android version 6.2.6 converted to bar and it seems to work. This is the free version also, but I have not tested all functions.
I use tinycam monitor pro (download from BlackBerry App World) on my playbook and use it as a baby monitor. Works great and I have never had a problem with it and it also gets updated frequently. The same app works for BB10 and PlaybookOS. If you can't get it too work then I'd check the settings or see if your camera is support (although it has wide support for lots of camera and should work on standard protocols)
