There are so many system files that need to stay on or it won't function properly. but I was looking for a list like this few months ago when I shrank the OS and made the playbook a little more snappier!

It was easy with BBOS... but I haven't dived into shrinking playbook OS or BB10...

Simple. First, wipe your playbook. Then , after the wipe and during the setup process, you'll be offered an update. REFUSE THE UPDATE. Then, once your setup is complete, you'll be left with a Playbook with only the Browser app. Now, sideload only those system apps that you want and use. The result will be a playbook that boots up faster and has more free ram

I had so much issue with email due to intro of google 2step verification... and yahoo asking for password every min... i did a clean wipe and now all working perfectly... except for the browser which always have security messages and very slow loading time... probably i will do another clean wipe and dont install the updates... it amazes me how my 5 year old playbook receives emails on the spot when my other phone receives email notification few min later...

That's what I thought, but I haven't had too many issues with my PlayBook since it still does what I need it to.

Thanks for these, I'm half tempted to have a go at this as its sitting unused mostly, if it was a bit quicker I might use it a bit more, apart from booting quicker does it make much difference ?
(I've already del the language packs) and I hate having apps that don't work sitting there installed (YouTube.. Etc) which is probably a bit ocd tbh.

Contemplating letting kids use it in car for videos/ emulators den/doom/games, from past experience it's always gotten really slow the more I've installed on it (64gb, but not full)- any ideas why??
