I think this has been ruled out. Check with the experts in the Rooting subforum, one more down below.

RIM has never made it possible to go back to an earlier OS version AFAIK. All to do with the way that only the latest OS is pushed from RIM's servers rather than being version-selectable from a (not necessarily official) download site. We had a flurry of similar discussions to this when RIM "mis-stepped" and broke WiFi for many in an OS update to 1.07(8?) - the "802.N-issue".

Tho', if I knew how, I'd be first in the queue to get back to OS1.08! LOL

I can't imagine why anyone would want to go back!

Can't be done. Once you're on 2.0 official, no downgrading...

Yes...please enlighten us as to why on earth you would prefer to downgrade to OS 1.0.

The browser is at least twice as good on OS 2.0...not to mention BB remote...print to go...smoother everything...

I don't get it. That being said I'm sure as a community we could find a way to do if you really do want to technologically cripple yourself.

    In a word: Stability!

    1.08 was rock-solid for me. OS2 isn't!

Android Player freezes, Browser crashes, Native email drains the battery faster than kryptonite on Superman.

OS2's UI is very nice, all the bells and whistles are "sweet"TM..., but, yes, I'd go back to OS1.08 in a heartbeat and wait for RIM to really finish OS2.

Just my opinion, and you did ask.

why would you want to have a slower browser?

On Playbook, my Number 1 Application is the browser. Every other app is way behind the browser in terms of useage.

I had maybe two browser crashes (strictly, forced closes) in all the months I had PB OS1.0X. With OS2, the browser crashes for me several times a day... "poof!" and it's gone again!

That isn't just a problem for me. Something over 80% of respondents agree that OS2 browser stability is an issue. http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...-2-0-a-706334/

So, I'll agree with you that the OS2 Browser is faster, but what use is that to me?

It's like having a Ferrari, lovely car though that is, that screams along (can you hear that beautiful engine growl?)... and which "totals" itself on every corner.

    "Reliability" trumps "Speed" everytime!

It may be slower but it doesn't continually crash like the 2.0 browser

I've had the odd browser crash with 2.0, maybe more frequently than with 1.0, but still a rare ocurrence. Maybe once a week? So infrequent that its never happened when I'm inputting text or something. And the browser reloads so quickly it would be like complaining about a sneeze. I am very happy to trade this level of "instability" for all the enhancements.

Jeep, I wild try a clean install, that should solve most of your problems, staying clear of android apps will probably clear up the rest.

I would love to stay clear of android apps but I am a heavy user on other platforms of evernote, simply put I need it and the native pb version is pants for inputting text.
As soon as that's fixed I will get rid of the android version.
