Yes, the latest OS will always be installed. What don't you like about 2.0.1 that was better in 2.0.0?

Have you tried the developer betas? I've found them to be a huge improvement.

Just wondering if my apps and docs will stay intact if I upgrade it to the beta version. Can I go back to the 2.0.1.358 version if I experience problems with beta?

Your apps and documents will stay intact if you upgrade to a beta, and you can downgrade back to the official if you want to.
However, be sure to backup before you upgrade, as a backup from a higher OS cannot be restored onto a lower OS (and backing up is in general just a good idea).
Also, if you're having issues with 2.0.1, doing an OS repair via DM might help your preformance (again, backup before doing that).

I like 2.0.1.358 just fine but when I upgraded to 2.0.1.668 my PB started doing all kinds of funky stuff like freezing and brower not able to find the server unles I do a restart. I'm not a develpoer so I will not use the beta as they generally lose functionally of some features. I need all the features of my PB to work.

How do you do an OS repair using DM, maybe I can try that before downgrading?

I believe it's the same process as downgrading lol. Afaik, there's no repair image for the betas.
    1. Backup your PlayBook using DM
    2. Disconnect it from your PC and turn it off
    3. Reconnect your PlayBook
    4. Follow the instructions DM gives you.
