this isnt news, we have known for many months....
Unfortunately there are still people out there that don't seem to get it. I think there's a new "will the playbook get/be able to run BB10" every other day or so...
Well well well. Its been 18 months so why not we wait for another year? Doesn't feel that long eh?

The real proof is there is bb10 apps in the playbook app world I bought one it didn't work on my playbook so I rang blackberry for a refund and they told me the reason why you are able to purchase bb10 apps on the playbook in blackberry world is because the update is planned soon
How soon is soon? RIM's soon?
lol... yeah soon for bbry is I guess october?
October? That's too soon for BlackBerry lol... October 2014 sounds more like BlackBerry's soon
RIM needs to release a 'not yet ready release' of BB10 on the Playbook for all the naysayers so they'll have something more to complain about.
Define SOON; within a short period after this or that time, event, ect.......maybe BlackBerry needs to read a few dictionaries.
Probably better if we can get BBRY to convert PBOS into BB7 so at least we got a working platform rather than this hangover 2.1 which is nothing but upset stomach.

I blame the school system for not teaching students that many questions have previously been answered and that there is a thing called 'search function' which will bring up this answer.
The real questions at this point are when, and how they'll translate the BB10 interface to a larger screen with lower pixel density.
they're too busy reading code... :rotfl:
I'm still putting my money on April 18th. Being 10 weeks from the launch of bb10. lol
haha, right on... It's true. Some have no patience and you can't please everyone that's for sure. A long wait resulting in a better product/user experience - they complain. If they release it sooner with stuff missing - they complain. can't win with some. lol.
enjoy the product you have now, but to some a suggestion of reading reviews and other's experience before making the plunge and purchasing a device could go a long way...
How is this theme always different than others regarding shutting the thread down for it being a duplicate?
No, April 19 for the 2 year birthday (or should that be retirement) party.
"Research In Motion Ltd. on Tuesday said its tablet computer, the BlackBerry PlayBook, will start selling in the U.S. and Canada on April 19 for $499 to $699."
how is there another thread about this?
Seems there has been a lot of confusion when Kevin said 1 gig of RAM was efficient enough. Which is slightly puzzling after seeing all the 1 gig dev phones running pretty smoothly.
There are issues with the 1gb of ram that need to be addressed.

I'd be willing to be that 1GB of RAM is good enough once the initial launch version gets some of the inefficiencies worked out and the resource imprint is smaller. A lot of that is also subjective based upon usage.
It's been 3 weeks since Thor's announcement.
Anyone knows what's going on?
The most recent announcement from anyone at BlackBerry was "later this year". The secret timetable shows Quarter 2 as a probable release time frame which would make it late spring / summer.
Of course, p00p happens, so this is no more than a guess like that of anyone else in the forum.
g2hockey!
I told you!
See?
He hath returned!
Please.
PM midTbrew with the REASON.
