Just been following the threads regarding .1753 on the LTE / 4G PlayBooks and just wondered if there was any way to go back to .1526 on the WiFi PlayBooks?

Personally, I've just found the PlayBook slightly worse on .1753 compared with .1526. I occasionally find the browser just crashes, I never had that previously, and it times it seems to be oddly paused or stutters (OS, that is).

It's not a huge difference, but .1088 .1032 and .1526 all seemed to be decent releases for me, and my PlayBooks, but .1753 has introduced some minor issues, which although aren't show stoppers, I didn't previously experience them.

With a wipe and reload, does it start off with a certain OS, then downloads .1753 - or would .1753 be the default now - I ask this as when you do a wipe, it does seem to do a software update, and I wondered which OS it would be without doing the update.

Don't also understand issues with playbook 3G+ I lost sim recognition after loading 2.1.0.1753os. Cellular blocked and my cellular playbook is now reduced to a wide playbook.
    Can anyone help

To go to 1282 you need to go to 1526 first. I'll be posting an autoloader of 1526 with the radio later tonight.

    Just to be clear, it's just WiFi PlayBook(s) I have, not 3G / 4G / LTE model(s).

Same goes for the WiFi models. Get 1526 here:

That just seems to be the BAR file for .1526 - how can I make that into an autoloader, or is there an autoloader for .1526 anywhere?

Use sachesi to extract the .signed file from it, then use cap41 to create an autoloader.

Is there a download link for cap - 'cos I'm not seeing it on that wiki page?

    Thanks!

    I found one here: https://mega.co.nz/#!fsZHBQaT!Elp71z...kzuabBE6l_kev0

Alternatively, you can use Sachesi to create an autoloader from signed files or a folder containing signed files. That's the method I used and it worked fine.

OK, guys, thank you both for your help - I already had sachesi and 7zip and izarc can extract bar files anyway, so I could extract the .signed file.

    User sachesi and created: autoloader-qcfm.exe

Should be good to go to install .1526 back onto a PlayBook, yes?

I've successfully downgraded from 1753 back to 1526 so I don't think there should be an issue

OK, once again - thanks all.

Successfully put .1526 back on one of my PlayBooks.

The one release I couldn't find was the .1282 version - anyone know if there's a trusted download of that anywhere?

I have one on Mega right now but it is packaged with the .1283 radio file for LTE playbooks. You could use Sachesi to extract the signed files from the autoloader and create a new autoloader from just the OS file.
I think this is the link for it. If it's the right link, it should be called something like PB_1282_Radio_1283.
