ffs RIM like to keep us waiting constantly, they should of said June 1st and had it all ready to go soon as they said here it is.
Why? Everyone would complain about that course of action too. People are WAY too impatient and think that every small issue, even on something that's considered a developer only beta, is an epic fail at RIM....

Yeah, for people like me that are unable to register. They are working on it, it'll get fixed. It was more of a PSA...
Don't forget to do full backup before you install 2.1 BETA.

Note: After installing BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 you will not be able to backup and restore data back to 2.0.x. Apps downloaded or purchased from App World while using BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 may no longer work on other versions of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS. Not all apps which work on OS 2.0.x will work on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.

It's not that you can't restore backups from 2.0 on 2.1, it's the other way round - if you make a backup on 2.1 then downgrade back down to 2.0(.1), you won't be able to restore a backup made on 2.1.
Which is why you have to do a full backup BEFORE you install 2.1 beta.
I've never been able to do a full backup due to a bug that RIM says they're working on when you have too many apps installed. So I just wing it and install the betas and pray for the best.....no problems so far.
What! That is ridiculous. I registered about an hour and a half ago and still no sign of it
Yeah, it's downloading slowly, for obvious reasons, but it was surprisingly pretty fast. I didn't even have to hit the Check for Updates button....I got the notification automatically.
question can you backup without the blackberry desktop software? it dont work on my computer.
