And another thread because I think this point deserves it - it is especially dedicated to Kevin and the CB team who seem to be not very techie people and instead of supporting a sport team just made love with this company: Since months people are defending BB that 1 GB is probably too less for BB10 - this is the biggest joke ever heared and i'm not going to believe that BB just found this out recently. This is the most stupid excuse we've heared and another insult towards people that are not blind fanboys!

First of all a small comparism, would you argue that a 1 year old car with a smaller gas tank is worth to be given up just because it goes max. 150 km instead od 250km? Definetely not because even with 150km you could still reach a lot. But if you would compare this maximum distance with cars of other competitors and find out that they can all go 250 km with the same amount of gas, wouldn't you agree that the car then must be running with a freacking inefficient machine?

The same is valid for BB10, lets face it, but the truth is that no onther mobile OS requires 2GB and still is able to deliver far more than BB10 does:

- Apple updates their old tables with even 512 MB, the 1GB are just running fine!
- Windows 8 does not require 2 GB and still delivers more than the redicilous Plabook OS with it's native stock applications
- Android tables might require more CPU for general lagginess of their UI, but this has nothing to do with RAM.

This only leads to the following conclusions

- BB10 is a bloatware beast, doesn't look promising for the all-goes-on-this-horse strategy then
- Thorsten Heins wasn't keen to spend any more money and the 1GB story is a good excuse even it's just laughable
- They were lying from the beginning just to sell their pile of left over Playboks

Doesn't matter which side of the coin you're looking at - it doesn't look too good for BlackBerry! They either seem technically incompetent or dumb****ting their customers!

It's not really a lie. Watch the podcast and you'll see Kevin explain his "experience". He did not say, "it's technically impossible to make this run on a 1 GB device".

I'm of the believe they absolutely could get a decent version on the PlayBook that would improve on 2.1. However, it would take time and money to do and for a small user base without a successor product, probably not worth it.

And yet all those OS's have nothing in common with BB10, none of them are RTOS and need a heavier memory base so the OS can keep doing what it needs to be doing.
