I am having the same problems with .1526. I have done hard reboots and have done the security wipe and reload. The results are the same, app won't open this include Doc to go, the browser, email app Kobo app, and everything else that I have on the playbook. This new update hates me, i am going to give the help line a call to see if they can resolve this and if not a guess it is time to box it up and send the playbook to RIM for the 2nd time into 2 months. If any body has any suggestions I would appreciate them.

I haven't tried the wipe yet but this update has been terrible with wifi issues and freezing issues at the top of the list.

I'll try wiping and report back.

Mine has been rock solid. Not once have I lost connection and had no problems with vacation spots across el Salvador.

Browser, well I use SB. But main browser I I use for skyrim searching. Experience there is normal.

Faulty update maybe for yours? Or maybe your hd is over full. The PB does poorly with under 2gb free. Or possibly hardware is different... Might even be faulty or failing ram / gpu if reloads or downgrading won't work. You could downgrade your os if its real bad

Great point. I urge you guys never to let te free memory go below 5GB if you want your PB to perform as usual. Going past that is asking for trouble. 2GB is the point where it just goes south.

Another thing, it seems that as much stuff you have in the gray "Protected Media" area, the worse whatever has to access that data performs (hence why the Podcasts App can suck so hard at times).

I have all three types of tablet (Android, PB, Ipad) and I must say that I have not ever encountered a problem with a true multitasking operating system like QNX running on the PB. If you really think there is something wrong with your PB tablet after an update try wiping the device and start cleanly - it is the same for Android devices and iOS devices. That is why a backup of data is very important....

No, simply ruining your own credibility when you make stuff up and then can't even back up your own statements.

Scions right though. BlackBerry does *not* recommend doing a full wipe prior to updating. They recommend it if you have unique ongoing issues as a troubleshooting step.

And yes, Apple has a close practice. They have advised me to do so in troubleshooting three times to date.
It does kind of nullify the argument your making. Yes, your having issues. No, it doesn't affect everyone. And yes, you either need to troubleshoot, RMA or ignore the problem.

More importantly, all modern systems have practices such as wiping. Its because OS and design is far more complicated today than even 5 years ago.

Also, for the record, issues from RIM updates to PB or BB10 is *nothing* compared to the issues we've had with our iPad2 updates.

Our iPad2 was best on its first OS. Every update since has broken something else.

Beat way to fix things is to do the debrick method. Its a complete type wipe. Meh mines fine, no wipes for a year I think. Did a wipe ablong time ago because I was on 2.0 beta and I needed to update to the real 2.0

    Guess I'm lucky? Strange...

With every PBOS update, there's been a small percentage of users affected negatively. If anything, this update seems to have affected fewer users than in the past. I don't think it is more problematic than any other electronics update and it is what I do for a living.

Not trying to marginalize those that have had problems. It can suck, I've been there. Considering that the hardware is the same and the OS is the same, it points to either an error during install or a problem with an existing file or app on the PB. Not many options other than to clear out the problematic install and try it again clean.

One thing i noticed when i was having the problem...even when it said wifi was off....it was still on searching for a signal???

Everything is fine now after the debrick...

I know you wrote that you turned off wi-fi, but I had something similar happen with the PlayBook draining the battery fast...

At home, I leave wi-fi on and my PlayBook stays connected without much loss in battery life. At work, I must log onto the wi-fi, with a webpage, each day. On days where I forget to log in and the wi-fi on, the PlayBook would find the network but get stuck with the authentication and the battery would drain to nothing in a few hours. Not only that, but the PlayBook would get hot, like it did a lot of processing.

If the camera has stopped working, generally the USER canNOT fix it. You can try the normal reboot options (below) but generally you need to contact Rim and have it fixed by them

To fix an issue, try these in order:

Restart using the Battery Icon and press Restart

Press and hold the Power button for 10-15 seconds. Then leave it for 20-30 seconds and see if it restarts.

    To REBOOT:
Press and HOLD all three keys for about 10 - 20 seconds: PowerOn, VolUp and VolDown. Start with the PowerButton. Keep holding past the 3-choice options screen. If you hear a shutter type sound, you've taken a Screen Shot and probably missed the PowerButton.

The PB has a one year warranty to the original purchaser. It also has 90 free Tech support. I do not know how Rim deals with "quasi-tech support v. warranty"

After the .1526 update I began having problems with eMail. It keeps dropping the WiFi connection when trying to delete multiple emails. After a while the connection returns and so does the email. Other wireless devices on the same network do not have this problem. Getting support for this device is like pulling teeth. Makes me question updating my Blackberry phone.

I had no problems with the update (updated when it first came out) until yesterday. Watched a video, sent a few emails (didn't hear the normal virtual keyboard clicking but it didn't really register at the time), then went to watch another video. There was no sound. Went back to email and the virtual keyboard came up, but wouldn't type anymore. Tried restarting the playbook, but couldn't even type in my password (virtual keyboard comes up but doesn't work). Has anyone encountered anything similar? Will try a hard reset. Any other suggestions?

You updated it when it first came out and now you have issues with it? I think it might not be the update that you are getting issues from but another problem. Generally if a person has problems after the update it is immediate and not way down the road.

I would imagine that there is a problem with a newly installed app (especially if side-loaded, or if you incorrectly deleted a side-loaded app). If it isn't a new app, a de-brick might help.
