Blackberry ships refurbished PB's with OS 2.0.0.8550. With that being said, could that OS be the universal key to debricking PB's and unblacklisting the device?

I was just thinking about this and something occurred to me. Maybe it's not a development issue, maybe not even hardware related, nothing. Maybe it's about the market. Think about it, BlackBerry don't want ppl to get it's first impressions of the brand new OS from an old device. I just won't have the same resources and smoothness as the new devices, we all know that. So it's just a matter of time. At some point a fair amount of people will know BlackBerry 10 as it's supposed (on new hardware) then we'll have it on our PlayBook. It's a marketing issue not a specs issue at all

    try in cmd line:

    cfp -u -v5 info

at the botom off listing you see what nr off OS are blacklisted
When I run this under "os range" it says "2069 - 2118.".

Is this the range of permissible oses?

I'm trying to load the new (2354) stl100-1 leak on my soft bricked PlayBook.

    No dice.

    CFP will not load it.

I made an autoloader and that won't work either.

The only os that will load is 2.1.0.1526 and that will not boot.

Is there a CFP command to force an os load?

The bootloader is blocked to OS10, since the dev units were specifically for BB10. CFP will let you load anything matching the machine type but the bootloader will stop it from starting unless it is supported. Send your unit to the bozos at Blackberry where they will restore the OS2 bootloader, they have baseline product diagnostic and testsuite firmware to check refurbished devices for quality assurance. Unless someone has the generic image that overwrites it to the latest supported version, your unit is only good for spare parts.
