I don't know about you, but I'd rather have an Angry Birds game than netflix, skype, actual useful apps.

Nice work doing the research on this post... 2 days after MS announces it's tablet called Surface that will unify their PC and Tablet platforms, and WP to some degree, you boast, well, at least PB has Angry Birds Space. MS Surface will run on both ARM like most tablets but also have Intel version with full Windows PRO 8 with full Office suite, but PB has some stupid kids game. Seriously?

According to Acer, MS's flaunted iPad killer is a scam. Being an early adopter of WP right from the beginning, I can believe MS might do this. They've certainly been wishy/washy about the system from the beginning. After all, who would think to launch a mobile system with all of the intense competition it would face that doesn't have features the others had 3 years ago? WP was ancient feature-wise when it launched and MS will forever be playing catch-up to the others, no matter what propaganda they spew out about their WP.

According to Acer? Ha, that's funny. The fact that this Microsoft hardware partner was caught flat footed and can only rely on a bs response to try to save face. The same hardware partner that continues to put out lame, sub-par, non-innovative hardware products that is one of the reasons Apple has been killing MS lately? Surface is far from a scam. MS is merging their PCs with tablets. They are pushing all their chips in and going for broke. The fact that they are actually putting out the hardware is a message to the PC leechers like Acer, Dell,HP, etc. Either innovate or we (MS) will. The MS haters will of course down play this... But it is actually a big move by MS.

BTW, why do you keep comparing a phone OS (WP) with a tablet OS like PB? They are not the same thing. And to call WP ancient feature wise on launch... When PB didn't even have basic email and contact apps (and took almost a year to get them) is the heighth of hypocrisy.

You mean MS doesn't have a mobile-system tablet out yet? Hmmm...still playing catch-up. When WP was launched Oct. 2010, it lacked so many features the others had for 2 years prior to its launch. After the others having tablets now for a couple years, MS decides to get into them. And I hope the Surface isn't a scam because it looks really good. But knowing MS through product experience, I would not buy one. I don't want to be perpetually waiting for it to evolve and be updated to the level of the others. And Google's ChromeOS should be very capable of standing against a Win8 tablet. And it will be open-source allowing OEMs to kill the Surface if it actually is a viable tablet.

Here's irony: MS developed WP7 to use MicroSD as its internal memory. Then some time later MS comes out claiming that MicroSD cards are a poor memory choice because of being unreliable. Strange that they engineered use of those cards into WP7.

This thread is completely pointless. You are comparing apples to oranges.

Windows Phone is not a replacement for any tablet, Playbook or otherwise, and vice-versa.

Now the comparison will be valid once Windows 8 (and Windows RT) tablets are released.
