I don't think so. If it's cheap maybe. But it won't be cheap and it won't happen anyway.
I'd rather buy an ipad or a nexus instead of an acer bb10 tablet e.g.

You mean like the Google Nexus 7 by ASUS for example? Sure, I would be interested, but not so much if it were made by acer and the price would have to be reasonable unlike the iPad.

I would in a heart beat as long as there was app support.

In reality, I do not think anybody would develop for it, though.

I've had a Playbook for a while, (before the upgrade to 2). I bought it because it did what I wanted it to do; play videos in HI Def to which I could copy them easily and without its having to be connected via USB, as well as the other video capabilities it has.

I accidentally damaged the HDMI connector beyond repair, so I sent the unit to my son who might be able to repair it and I bought another one from Ebay (almost new, at a great price, less than $100). Now we have the best two way video chat we could have imagined and he and the grandkids now love to talk "face to face" with their grandparents. Then I discovered that by connecting it to my 47" TV, chat entered a whole new mode. Their faces now filled the big screen and ours filled the entire screen of the playbook. (I also sent him a new charging dock for which I paid $15 new on Ebay.)
I found a parallel Bible app which was written only for the Playbook. And, using a Hauppauge PVR, I can record 1080I movies off my satellite box onto a PC and transfer them via WIFI to the Playbook (although converting them to MP4 first is a better way to go). Regardless of whether it is upgraded to 10 or not, the Playbook has done what I needed it to do and more. I do also have a Nexus 7 (got on sale) for when I need other functions, but what I use the Playbook for, it does not compare.
    FF22, Affie36 and 8820man like this.

If tablet would have specs like Z10, all apps should run perfectly.

Nexus from google because apps and support would be no problem.
Quite frankly, I don't really trust the bbry apps and update support anymore. The hardware was not the problem.

Who is going to make the OS? Thor won't support it, tablets are dead.

After my experience with the Playbook for which I paid arround 800 USD - yes I was a sucker believeing RIM advertisments at launch - there is no chance for me to buy a BB product again. BB has no apps! And will not have apps in the future. Why buy a product with no third party support on the software side?

If tablet specs would be similar to Z10's, then OS would not be such a problem.

Until I see a product supported for more then a year I no longer support... BlackBerry should have their own corner of the community dump for their last 5 product releases prior to bb10
