Found it! But only 533 apps are showing?! Search Results for "PlayBook" - BlackBerry App World
ONLY 533 apps? How many do you plan on using? I wonder how many you could come up with if you had to write them down, all the apps you would really use, including games and stuff you find interesting/entertaining. Im guessing less than 533.

I'm sure less then that but how many are actually useful and good? Or not a game or some other time counter or whatever.

Very fair point. I wouldn't use 533 apps! But the ones I would use, do not exist.

No twitter client - Seriously, RIM - wake up and smell the coffee. Come up with a Twitter client, how many millions of people have Twitter and there is no client for it. I do not see why I should have to pay for this. And I don't see why they can't release an app for this. The browser does it, I know! But the browser won't give me notifications when I'm not on the twitter website.
EBooks, Fair enough - Kobo is on the PlayBook. They have a lot of titles, and hopefully the Kindle will eventually come too. But I think most titles on Kindle are on Kobo. If I'm wrong - please say!
No native email client - I believe this is coming?
Ebay - I suppose the browser will do fine. Once the email client comes, that will suffice for notifications.
Skype - would be nice to come, but not sure if it ever will.
IM - I believe IM+ is coming, excellent!

I suppose the PlayBook could do for me, and I would buy one. But what I worry is that the lack of apps will never change. I hope this is wrong as eventually QNX will power the BlackBerry phones so the apps should start to cross over!?!

And for the record, I love RIM and BlackBerry.

Variety is the spice of life my friend. Most of the apps i would use aren't on the playbook anyway. A top 10 of apps used (more like 20)

    read it later
    Comics
    Evernote
    Dropbox
    NPR
    netflix
    zinio
    kindle
    pulse
    twitter

Please define "useful and good", because other platforms have 10 times the useless ones, whereas I've found enough useful ones on PlayBook to suit any "need" I can think of. It isn't about quantity, it's about quality, yet somehow people love to use the number of apps as some kind of measuring tool when reviewing the product..

I just found an awesome one last night and couldn't sleep after I did - Vevo! It rocks, and it's free. Kept me up all night.

Android player will fill a lot of this void, but honestly I don't miss anything you mentioned. I just say if these are important get another tablet? This is not personal, but why do people insist on keeping and complaining about something that just isn't right for them? It only makes them look stupid. The rest of us are more than tired of hearing about it.

You can get a brand new playbook for $ 200 - $250 now on ebay or craigslist. Frankly speaking there is no Tablet out there that would give you more value in that price range.

The chinese knock offs in the same price range might have some functionality like PIM , email etc that playbook does not have, but the playbook fares much better in stability and smoothness that you will enjoy if you go for the playbook than these.

    Hi,

But the thing that I will use most will be the apps, and it would appear that the PlayBook just doesn't have much apps. The ones I'd like would have to be:

Kindle - unless there is a affordable ebook reader on the PB.
    Skype
Windows Live Messenger - some sort, doesn't have to be official
    Twitter
    Evernote
    Ebay
    Sukdoku, Spider Solitaire

    What are you're thoughts?!

    Thanks!
You want my honest thoughts? You cited what is important to you. Buy a tab that has it so we don't have yet one more whiner in here. This almost looks like a disguised whine thread.

I'm pretty sure that search doesn't find all the PlayBook apps, but perhaps only those that actually mention "PlayBook" in their names or descriptions.

Where do people find all this time to watch movies, twitter, facebook, play games and read books anyway? I must be working my **** off to support everyone's leisure time in the new socialist America because I don't have a minute to spare.
