i just had my beloved PB stolen (the details are besides the point)...

far from giving up on it, i intend to buy another one if i can NOT recover the one i grew attached to.

a simple question to the fellow pb forumites - is there a way i can remotely wipe out the the stolen pb private content or, better yet, a way to track it based on the ip/wi-fi usage or the gps or whatever works....i know that apple and android have some apps for the purpose.

is there something similar for a BB/PB stolen/lost unit?

    many thanks for any help.

There is BlackBerry Protect for phones, but it's not available for the PB wifi version, I don't know if it is on the 3g.

There is no way to track it that I've seen yet.

However, if you post the PIN, I'm sure the CB community would happily attempt to video chat with the perpetrator.

I sure would give the thief a call!

I think that if you have the pin, you can contact Blackberry and they'll blacklist your PB. This should prevent the thief from being able to reload the OS.

Yeah, contact BB, give them your PIN, and I believe I had to give them the serial number, they blacklist it, next time it connects to the Internet it wipes and locks itself. You probably won't get it back, but the thief won't be able to use it. I had the same thing happen to me about a year and a half ago.
