"Later this year" and "by the end of the year" ....No one said by the end of the year. Alec Saunders stated "later this year " some months ago. There are many rumors op but until someone from BlackBerry says different, we just won't know when. Someone from BlackBerry did say that a new tablet was coming in June and that the existing PlayBook will get BlackBerry10 before that happens. Apparently no one took it to be truth though.
I'm guessing PlayBook upgrade will come after the Q10 LAUNCH ;) later this year :)

What is the difference between 'Later This Year' and 'By The End Of The Year' ??
I guess the first implies earlier than the second, but the both mean essentially the same thing
No OP, I got this from a very reliable source, it will only be available to PBs that have the red power symbol on their power button. If yours doesn't, you're out of luck. :(
I guess the main difference is, as I understand it, nobody from BlackBerry said the latter, rather the former.
Taken as pure words, there may not be anything significant. 'cept I don't believe your words were used, and in context, your words mean that the reality is just meeting a deadling of 31st December 2013, whereas BlackBerry's words suggest / imply "not right now", "later", but not necessarily at the 11th hour.
